While traveling and staying at Virginia Beach, we decided to use an offer from the Entertainment website and settled on the Icehouse Restaurant. Our hotel was only a few blocks away, and we decided to take a 20-minute walk rather than drive.
We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Promise, took our drink orders, then our food orders. Our Entertainment offer was a free entree with the purchase of an entree: I ordered a pulled pork BBQ platter (big surprise) and my wife ordered the clam strips platter. There were many other possibilities on the menu as well. The food arrived quickly (we watched baseball on one wall TV and weather on another TV while we waited).
The BBQ came with two sides: I ordered mac & cheese (very good) and broccoli (also very good). My wife ordered marinated cucumbers and applesauce with her platter and enjoyed both. The only drawback in ordering two entrees, instead of sharing one as we usually do, was the amount of food. We're not used to eating so much, but we managed, and were glad that we had decided to walk to the restaurant!
The casual atmosphere was comfortable, the service friendly and efficient, and it was a good experience. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. It's worth going in!
