Say at the bar and had great service. Enjoyed a blackened swordfish dinner, with salad, and sweet potato fries. Would recommend.

Operating steadily for over 50 years, Aberdeen continues to hold the bar high for great steak house experience. The steaks are a showcase, literally, which great you as you walk in, through a window into the refrigerated holding area. Wow, they are spectacular. Including the 48 oz, 24" long bone, of the Tomahawk bone-in ribeye. The lesser Yabba-dabba-do steaks are equally impressive. After several visits and always salivating over that Tomahawk, finally had enough people in my party to order it. 4 of us couldn't even finish it. It was cooked perfectly at our med rare request. Their Prime Rib is also spectacular and slow-cooked daily. A table near us ordered a fish....it exceeded the size of the plate and glistened with the moistness still within. Within the 'fine dining' class prices are more than reasonable. A full wine list and classic bar round out the impressive experience you'll enjoy at Aberdeen. A must-visit and impressive place to take your guests.
This is a steak house with some lovely seafood and chicken. The steaks are HUGE and cooked perfectly to your heart's desire every time. It is the finest beef you can buy. We ordered crab soup that was so rich and delicious with so much freshly picked crabmeat on top. The dinners come with a large variety of choice of sides. I had prime rib, rare, that was perfect and a lovely au jus accompaniment. My son had fried shrimp that were absolutely huge. We were extremely hungry when we arrived, ate our fabulous dinners and still had plenty to put in a doggie bag to take home to my husband, who then ate our leftovers for dinner and remarked how wonderful the doggie bag was. We eat out often, but we live an hour away from this restaurant. However, any time we are nearby, we make a point to go. There are several cases of steaks and lobster where you can see them on your way to your table. Huge and fabulous. So, although it might be expensive, it is appropriate for the quality and portion sizes. In addition, of course you expect the service to be wonderful and it certainly it. Probably 4 people waited on us (one brought water and kept the glasses full all evening; one took the order and later brought the bill; two others brought food and checked up on us, etc.) The restaurant is beautiful with all wood interior and richly appointed, fine oil paintings and art. Just the right level of lighting. Elegant and wonderful.
We went on a whim our last night in VA. My husband had the Cowboy cut steak and stated it was the best he has ever had. I wasn't that hungery and had the She Crab Soup. It was the best She Crab soup I have ever tasted. People complaining about this restaurant are nuts. DO Not go to a steak house and order pasta. It is a little pricing just to warn you but well worth it.
Overly expensive and food was very disappointing. Seating arrangements are crowded and lack any privacy. My wife ordered Chicken Parmesan. The tomato sauce was made with too much garlic lacked taste of any other spices and, the chicken was very-very dry. I ordered Chicken Alfredo. The sauce was just OK but, the chicken was also dry. Overall we were very disappointed with these $75.00 chicken dinners.
