We were very pleased with out stay at the Captain's Legacy where we stayed for 3 nights. From the time we walked through the front door until we left John and Addie were the most caring and knowledgeable hosts. Our rooms were absolutely gorgeous and were overlooking the water. We could not believe - yes there were icebergs when you looked right out our window. We went picking sea glass, iceberg watching, sightseeing, dinner/theatre and went to watch a group called the Split Peas (awesome group of ladies). John and Addie were able to guide us to all the sights and sounds of Twilingate. I almost forgot the breakfast was awesome. You had a choice and every morning there was also freshly baked scones. We would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone. My only suggestion would be to book as early as you know you are going to Twilingate. Excellent job John and Addie if there were 10 stars to give you would have them.

Room Tip: Book early.

We were fortunate to spend one night in the Captains Quarters room during the first week of our 2 week visit to Newfoundland. We chose this B&B based on information on line, including the many reviews that gave it an excellent rating. These reviews were certainly very accurate but you cannot truly appreciate the meaning of these reviews until you experience this B&B yourself. As others have said, this B&B is a beautifully-renovated historic property which has retained its charm but with a 5 star hotel feeling. The view of Hart's Cove from our room was beautiful with the ice breaking up in the cove. We were able to order our breakfast from a menu and it was delicious, including warm scones. These are some of the things that made our one-night stay very enjoyable but what contributed to making it outstanding was the hosts, John and Addie. From the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left they were very welcoming, friendly and willing and able to help with any information to assist in visiting beautiful Twillingate. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting this area.

Our stay at The Captain's Legacy was magical. The location on the water, tucked away on the side of the hill yet close to the heart of Twillingate is perfect. John and Adele are great hosts who greet you at the door with a smile and tour of their B&B.
The breakfast area is made of tables for two (overlooking the Harbour)that could easily be put together for larger groups. We were given breakfast choices to pick for the next day. As other guests arrived, they were also warmly welcomed. We were welcome to use the kitchen area for tea or coffee as well as the living room to chat with our hosts as well as other guests. John and Adele maintained the integrity of the home in the modern touches put into the rooms and the rest of the house. They were very helpful in suggesting places to go, to make our visit special. Their neighbour who drops in regularly, provides the historical touch to your visit. Because of its popularity we were only able to get one night there. Well worth it! Book early!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay. Historic Home, great room, good hot breakfasts and beautiful setting. The best part was the host/owners. They were very friendly and accommodating. We were in Newfoundland for 11 days, and we found this to be the best B&B we visited during our holiday.

From the friendly greeting at the front door, to the tour of the kitchen for our use, to our spacious, comfortable room with amenities that made it feel like a 5 star hotel, to the hug from Addie when we left our stay was perfect. We appreciated being able to choose our breakfast the day before from a menu with many options including fresh fruit,French toast, eggs(any way you like them) and even oatmeal! John's fresh, warm from the oven scones are an unexpected treat-served while he is cooking your breakfast.
John and Addie are always ready with information about the area and are happy to make suggestions, recommendations and bookings. You couldn't ask for better hosts or nicer accommodations. Would absolutely recommend this B&B--you will not be disappointed!
