I am not usually a fan of caged animals but this is something different. This haven for monkeys and owls that have, through one reason or another found themselves needing somewhere to take them in, has so obvioulsy been a labour of love. The owner Don Walser has hand built the magnificent enclosures that are full of fun things for the monkey to play with and do. You can see how happy they are in their huge enclosures and you could spend hours watching them playing happily in the only cages with grass in them that I have ever seen! The owls are also housed beautifully and have to be seen for their majesty to be appreciated. We were thrilled to have had a personal guide in Mr. Walser who showed us a baby Eagle owl and a tawny owl. It is a day we will never forget. Everything is beautifully clean and the café has delicious cake! The gift shop has something for everyone. Highly recommended. Amanda Thomas

We had a wonderful time at the owl and monkey haven, the staff were brilliant, we were lucky enough to be there when the monkeys were fed, and learned so much from the keeper. Will definately go back next year.

Our recent family trip to the Owl and Monkey haven was the highlight of our trip. It may have helpped that it was quite quiet whilst we were there. The animals were so livley it was great. My wife went in the one monkey enclosure and was feeding the monkies (additional fee aplies). If you get a chance i would really recomend viditing this attraction. I would allow around 2 hours to see all of the haven, but they are growing so this will increase over time.

My wife, daughter and partner and myself visited the haven in May 2011. The admission fee is set just right and is in keeping with th outstanding quality of this facility. It is important to remember that this is not a Theme Park but a haven / home for Owls and monkeys. The owner - Don Walser - and his staff are great. They were constantly on hand to give advice and guidance on all the monkeys and owls living there - the kids loved it. There is a great little cafe and gift shop on site - again priced just right - and superb education block and toilets. This attraction is a "must see" so don't miss it!

What a wonderful experience we had at the Owl & Monkey Haven. What a fantastic place for young and old. All areas of the Haven have wheelchair access and there are lots of things to do and see for the children. The Haven is well kept and spotlessly clean.
My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting this haven this weekend. We fell totally and hopelessly in love with Spok the mischievous Rhesus macaque who kept us entertained for quite some time. We also had the rare pleasure of meeting his newborn brother or sister. We hope to return to the Haven on our next visit to the Isle of wight.
