In the winter we ate at Salentina - in a somewhat large family group - and the food and service were excellent. Tonight, after a vernissage at the Maison de Courten across the street we decided to try it again, this time just two of us.
We had a small green salad and both had pasta dishes. The food was OK but no more than that. Portions were huge... Not necessarily a good thing. Neither was well seasoned and when we asked for salt the waiter told us "we don't use salt". Well, we do... Not much but some! Waiter baulked at changing our knifes and forks after the salad. And then went outside to smoke right in the door opening which resulted in wafts of smoke coming over our table. When asked to move though he did so quickly. The whole ambiance was different from the time before and I don't think we would eat there again. The waiter did say they had a new menu, so maybe a new cook or new owner?
