the 3rd year on the trot here for us,staff brilliant, hotel position brilliant, the rooms have been updated and are excellent, however there has been serious cutbacks on the food to pay for the updated rooms.salad bar very poor compared to previous visits, vegetables were poor if they had any, main meal always seemed to be some kind of pork and not all meats were edible, lastly the fruit, cakes, etc were all sub standard to other stays here.its such a shame,my previous reviews gave this hotel 4 stars but it has fallen to 3 in my estimation.time for a change i think, sorry.

This review is about a stay 4 years ago - July 2013.
This hotel will always be nicely remembered by us because this was our first holiday after our son's birth.
The hotel is nicely sittuated by the sunny beach. All rooms have a view on the sea. A lot of food which was okay, no-limited drinking. Friendly staff.
I recommend this hotel for other families.

Stayed at this hotel for a week in Sept. My self my husband and 16yr old daughter and another family stayed all inclusive. Hotel itself is lovely. Very clean and spacious rooms. Can't complain about the hotel or staff. The food was horrible. None of us are fussy eaters but if you don't like pork don't stay here. One evening meal buffet choice was Pork Steak, Pork Kebab, Pork Stew or Pork Chops. All of these were cold and pretty inedible. Most nights were the same apart other nights being offered Shark or Rabbit. The salad bar food was weird with things I didn't even recognise. Mostly survived on chips (cold) and cake, fruit and ice cream. The All Inclusive Cocktails all came from a venting type machine which were poor. Had to eat out so the kids could get something decent and healthy to eat quite a few times. The Hotel entertainment was not too good either. I am not happy that I have to give this poor review as I always try to make the best of things but we were really looking forward to this holiday after a stressful year of GCSE's etc. Overall the holiday was good apart from the dismal food. Would not return to this hotel. It's such a shame as the Staff were lovely. Position of Hotel and surrounding ares excellent.

Stayed at the dorada for 9 nights at the beginning of sept 17, check in was quick and easy and we were given rooms on the 2nd floor room 204 on the corner with lovely views of the sea and the pool, nice size room and balcony, very clean, no toiletries apart from a bar of soap, hairdryer in bathroom. Kettle in room which was nice to have and a fridge. Only thing that was missing was some draws and a one under the dressing table would not go a miss. If you get up early enough you can watch the lovely sunrise.
Pool was a great size and there was no rush at all for the sunbeds. Pool bar great with lovely staff especially the tall guy who smiled and laughed all the time sorry didn't get your name and you didn't have a badge on.
Restaurant was nice and the food was good except the bacon at breakfast which needs to be cooked a bit more it was very pale. There was carved meat every night which was really good. Don't forget to say hola to the chef as I don't think many people do.
Daytime entertainment was ok if you wanted to join in, evening was a bit to be desired the animation team was very good, but we went out most nights to the nearby pubs
Drinks were OK plenty of them to choose from, I didn't like the beer so we went out of the pool gate to the little bar on the prom for an ice cold San Miguel
There is a number to get you in and out of the gate at the pool but it was always wedged open so anyone could walk in.
Lovely resort, turn left out the gate and you have nice walk along the prom and up to the castle, beach was great but crowded, and to the right and you were in sillot nice beach there too.
entertainment bar Olympic was about 150 meters left out of the hotel front door. Plenty of other bars on the Main Street
Lots of eating places around the hotel if you want something different from AI.
Very nice resort and a great hotel, I will return, thanks to all the staff for making our stay a pleasant one.

Enjoyed staying here with my family - a total of eight of us stayed at this hotel during peak season summer holidays. The rooms were basic but did the job, beds reasonably comfortable - however could do with a bit of updating I think.

Food was similarly good, but not always a great selection and service was reasonable but staff not fully engaged.

Animation team here were really great - lots of strong energy and loads of fun poolside activites for kids of a young age which suited our youngest party members of 12 and 13 years.

It's basically on the beach so this was very easy to get to as well as a nice stroll along the promenade where you'll find plenty of restaurants to choose from, whether looking for more of a Brit-friendly palate choice or something a little more local. Many of which were very reasonably priced given the GBP-EURO exchange rate these days.

Disco and late night hotel entertainment in the evening was very much catered towards the little folk with the mini disco kicking off the fun every evening. The music can get rather repetitive but it gives a very typical family style feel to the holiday.

If you are looking for something a little more edgy shall we say, then myself and some of the older siblings headed off to the next town along in a taxi to the local nightclub. This was pretty cheesey going too but a good holiday fun night out.

Sa Coma is a small, pretty and quiet little spot - beach gets very packed up in the peak months but some nice spots can be found.

Would recommend the area but perhaps not this hotel as I think there could be better places to stay along the promenade.
