The Finca is set in the middle of an attractive old hillside village in a stunningly beautiful valley in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. The main entrance for cars is on the left about 250m after you leave Orient village towards Bunyola, though on foot the village is just a two-minute walk downhill from the hotel.
It’s a perfect location, and the conversion to a hotel has been done exquisitely and to a very high standard. The furnishings are a good combination of modern comfort with antique charm. Although our room (no 8) didn’t have a balcony, it was light, spacious, and very comfortable.
The food is excellent. The breakfast menu is comprehensive, and the dishes we had from the dinner menu were outstanding. The staff are highly professional: totally competent while simultaneously unobtrusive and attentive.
This is a perfect mountain retreat for relaxing in quiet, beautiful surroundings, or as a base for walking or cycling. Many of the walks are through the hotel’s own very extensive estate, where you have to ignore the ‘no entry’ signs as they are not intended for you. For cycling, the hotel provides mountain bikes and equipment. The Finca is also a good base for exploring the north coast by car (Valdemossa, Deia, Soller) as we did.
Overall, this is one of the most perfect places that we’ve ever stayed.More
