Just returned from spending 6 nights at this wonderful Hotel. We stayed in room 1209 which has an excellent view. We did find that the comfort cooling for the room sometimes emitted an un-pleasant smell so we kept it turned off. The bed when sat on felt like boards, no sponginess at all. However, that being said we both slept very well which was a great surprise. I must commend all the staff as they work tirelessly and were very helpful and friendly throughout. There was ample food choices each day and they were topped up constantly. I travelled with a 12 year old who is a fussy eater. The one thing she would have loved is pancakes and/or waffles on the menu at breakfast at least on one of the days. You can't have everything and there was plenty of choice. I didn't realise I travelled at the end of season so I estimate 95% of the shops and perhaps a good percentage of bars had already closed. It forced me to relax which is what I really needed to do anyway. The mini fridge wasn't automatically re-stocked. I had to ask for cans of drink. The only negative thing I would say is that that the Wifi was unlimited in the reception, if you paid 4 Euros per day, or 9 Euros for 3 days or I think 18 Euros for 7 days I was led to believe it was only for use in the bedroom, not around the rest of the Hotel. I might have got that wrong and never put it to the test. The date on the crisps in the vending machine was out of date. I received profuse apologies and my money back. There didn't appear to be too much on offer at the snack bar. There was so much to eat when the Restaurant was open it didn't create a problem for us though. Initially I was told that the only English TV channels were CNN and BBC news. Hence my need for Wifi in the room. I did work out eventually though in desperation how to change the language on a good number of channels such as Paramount, Disney and DMax. The deposit for hiring towels was 10 Euro's per towel. A bit much if you're travelling as a family of 4 or larger. I noticed the well seasoned Travellers had brought their own. Also the beach chairs on the beach was charged at 4.50 Euro's! No idea if that was for the whole day or not. Loved the idea of the lift to the beach. The pool is somewhat small but as the beach is within 3 mins to get to I don't suppose it really matters. I look forward to returning again, however not so late in the year.

Room tip: Higher the room is located the better the view

Plus side: The Hotel decor is lovely, and the view from the rooms is magnificient. Cleaning staff lovely. in fact 99% of staff just lovely and food was plentiful and good quality.....But the downside:
You need to supply Heated plates at meal times. The food was ruined and quickly cooled by cold plates! this is the only hotel we have ever stayed that didnt supply this.
The quality of the vodka in the all inclusive pack was deplorable. What alcohol content did it have? It tasted watered down. And you advertise a 'Pinta' !!!! lager as one drink. No way was it a Pint! (served in 2 containers) maybe more a third of a pint not even supplied in Pint containers but cheap plastic very small 'glasses'. Shame on you! In Britain you would have been reported to the Weights and Measures Government department for misleading advertising. Also only 2 drinks per person? When you are supplying a pint of lager in 2 glasses my husband was unable to get ME a drink at the same time and had to rejoin the back of the queue again. The older man who served at the pool bar and then later inside at the bar lounge was deplorable! His manner and rudeness to us and our friends was out of order. He should NEVER be out front working with the public and should be kept behind the scenes. Everything was done with a bad temperamant and bad grace. Repeatedly my husband said 'please' and 'thank you' and this rude man never ONCE reciprocated!! Get rid of him...plenty of mannerly young people needing a job. The hill was a Killer. When the lift up from the beach was put off at 9 30 we had to take a taxi home to get to the front entrance. Sorry We wont be returning.

This hotel was almost the perfect, cannot fault location, staff, food, It seems the customers are being let down by poor management or the owners ? As a seasoned traveler I feel let down by money grabbing owners/management ? It's very rare these days for hotels to charge for WiFi in customers rooms in fact personally I've stayed in 9 different countries this year & over 35 different hotels & not one has charged for WiFi . Perhaps a few years ago they all got on the band wagon, but these days very few if any do ? Alright it was only €19 for 7 days, but why ? Even * or ** hotels don't charge these days, in fact guest houses or B & B's don't !!!

Room tip: Deep pockets for WiFi

This hotel is wonderful. It's clean, tidy, has friendly staff and a stones throw from the beach.
The food is nice, although being a fussy eater there wasn't much I could eat. The all inclusive drinks are limited to certain things, most things are included like beer, wine, some spirits but not everything. The swimming pool is freezing cold!
Other than these few small moans I cannot fault the hotel, the rooms are lovely with fabulous views of the pool area and the beach. There is a lift or stairs down to the beach so you can avoid the massive hill out the front of the hotel and a coded gate to get through.
We would definitely visit here again, it was amazing xx

We spent 4 nights/5 days at the Coral Playa and all we have to say was what an excellent time we had. We read the reviews and took on board other peoples feelings and were not let down.

OK, where to start. Reception is on the 7th floor. Our room was on the 8th floor, not a big distance stairs wise. You have to walk up a few steps to get to the lifts. Not too bad if you do have a disability. There is a stair chair that takes you down to the 6th floor if needed. The restaurant is on level 1. Actually it isn't! Its between level 0 and 1. If you cant walk down the stairs then best advice is to go down to level 0 and take the Stannar lift to the restaurant. As many have stated, the hotel is at the top of the hill. There is lift down to the beach, but you do have to walk down some steps to the lift, then some more at the bottom to the beach. But its worth it! Also its the easiest access to the town than suffering the hills. Late check out is 21 euro and its until you have to leave (which for us was 21:30). IF you cant get late checkout, you will still get all the all inclusive until you leave, no cut off time like other hotels.

The Hotel. Our room was very clean and well presented. You are given some free mini bar drinks (Beer, soft drinks x 4 and a big bottle of water). After that its at cost. There is no kettle. We never asked if it was available. Safe key is chargeable. Modern TV, no UK entertainment channels only news. Rooms are air conditioned and worked well. WIFI is free in reception but chargeable over the rest of the hotel. Basic entertainment, free bingo, kids disco, local groups. Nothing special but it is October so assume its all on a wind down. The pool is quite small. Loads of sunbeds, but the terrace does not get much sun, but we spent most of our time on the beach anyway. The lifeguards do 'police' the area. No food by the sunbeds. No drink. They are strict so don't kick off at them!

All Inclusive. Food was very nice. Breakfast. Continental as well as bacon, eggs, beans, etc. Lunch was pasta, salads, rice, hot and cold meats, cheese, etc. Standard AI food. Dinner was much the same, but a basic carvary most nights. YOu can book as part of your AI the Italian restaurant with a more specialist meal. Drinks are beer , wine, local spirits. Branded cost extra, but they will make up floater coffees, hot chocolate etc. They do have a 2 drink rule per person at the bar. They don't break the rule unless they can see that its you and a child, don't have a go like some have, they will remember you!

Staff. We had no issues. The usual rules. Smile and they will. Be polite and they will. They respond the way you talk to them and to be honest you can see that. They will bend over backwards if you are just courteous.

All in all we loved it. Hotel amazing. Staff exceptional. Room comfortable. Beach amazing. View was fantastic. This was the end of season in Magaluf, but we wasn't there to party. WE didn't want to come home and if it wasn't for the crazy flights and unable to book one home on the day we wanted to then we would have stayed longer. Would we go again? yes Would we recommend? Yes. The hotel is quite disabled friendly. Email them. They get back usually same day.

Room tip: All rooms have a sea view. Some are better than others. The higher you go the more stunning.
