I enjoyed my stay at Cala d`Or hotel. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. It has a beautiful beach. The downside for me was that the hotel does not have a good gym area neither it has a spa. Although it is in a wonderful location.

My first impression of the hotel was excellent, this is an independent hotel in a quiet location with a really authentic entrance and a very nice welcome. Unfortunately my first impression soon changed once I saw my room, it was small, dark, basic and tired with very thin walls. Even worse I could hear the neighbours in the shower and was awoken by their snoring, it was so loud I thought someone had moved in with me. I paid to upgrade to a wonderful room with fantastic views, it was brand new with a new bed, flat screen TV and bathroom and the rest of my stay was very comfortable albeit left me with substantially less spending money. The pool is wonderful although someone needs to move the extract as the wafting smell of deep fried food is nauseating. Breakfast is fantastic, fresh and plentiful buffet and the staff very nice, lunch in the beach bar is really good quality food although the snacks expensive, dinner not so good, I'd pass on it next time. The beach bar tenders are fantastic particularlythe new bar tender from Brazil who gave excellent personal service and remembered all our specific orders and couldn't do enough to help. The hotel needs to reconsider its policy of charging for wifi and for the use of the hotel safe, this is not common practice and leaves a bad impression. Overall a good stay if you choose your room wisely, trust me it's worth upgrading to a new or sea view room.

Room Tip: Only book a sea view or refurbished room the rest are dark and very noisy from your neighbours use of the bathroom, TV and sleeping habits!

We upgraded to a sea view room with wrap around terraces and it was well worth it. The hotel sits right on the beach and is very close to the town centre (cafes, shops and banks). Breakfasts were really good but we didn't opt for half board as there were so many options instead. I would return to this hotel again without hesitation. Fantastic

Room Tip: Pay for an upgrade. You won't regret it

We stayed here as a family of four, 2 adults, 2 young kids in August this year, the location is great, just across from the beach and right next to shops and restaurants, we were all inclusive for 7 nights and were very pleased with the quality of food and drinks. I have travelled all over the world and stayed in anything from 3 star to 5 star and thought the food was very good for a 3 star hotel, so ignore reviews about bad food. Everything was very fresh, clean and there was always something to like. Yes the hotel is not new but it was clean and we stayed in a 1 bed apartment which had a charming spanish feel. The kids enjoyed the kids pool, if I was being picky I would say the garden in this area needed attention as the grass had worn away so was a bit dusty underfoot, The sun beds were very old and not comfortable but this did not spoil our stay. I liked the fact that sunbeds were locked til 9 am, but to my amusement people were still waiting from 8.15 am and reserving spaces with inflatables! Evening in house entertainment was bit hit and miss but saw a couple of reasonable bands over the week. Beach fantastic and just outside the hotel, busy, but we always found a spot for a couple of towels. Great for snorkelling too. If you want a reasonably priced (for August anyway)! Hotel with your family you can't go far wrong with the Cala Gran

Room Tip: Our 1 bed apartment was very spacious for family of 4

The hotel Cala d'Or is in a great location, which is close to the town center (an easy walking distance) but still far enough from the busy touristy streets. The direct access to the beach and the view of the ocean was great! The rooms are a little small but still nice. The balcony with sea-view was lovely. Parking was directly in front of the hotel which was nice. The only thing we did not like was the staff at the breakfast buffet -- They were not very friendly and their service was poor. But, all the other staff was very friendly, helpful and good. :) We definitely recommend spending a day at Cala Mondragó National Park which is about a 15 min drive away -- it was really beautiful there!

Room Tip: Book a room with a sea view!
