This is the best place to eat in Cala D’or / Cala Egos! Massive portions, excellent food. Definitely come back again!

We have been coming here for years and Alan and his wife are fantastic hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is wonderful and plenty of it. I can highly recommend.

We went for food here on our last night due to the high recommendations in here! How gutted we was to leave it till our last night and not our first so we could have eaten here a lot more. The food was up there with the best high end pub food I have ever eaten. My son is very picky about his food and he demolished his meal too, when I could pull him away from the children’s playroom. The drinks were top notch too my wife had a gin and she said it was gorgeous and a very good measure. The bill arrived and we was amazed at the price it was easily half the price of eating elsewhere around especially the marina which was ridiculously expensive. Can’t reccomend highly enough!!!

Not the best location with no view and rather worn furniture, a refurb would certainly help. However, Alan was friendly, welcoming and the food superb & great value. The only downside was the singing guitarist who trotted out slow ballad after slow ballad We're on holiday and out for the good time, cheer up friend!. Hotel California prompted us to head to our hotel or we'd have stayed for more drinks. He played one fabulous upbeat Irish song very well but in isolation, we'd have loved more, we are in an Irish Bistro & pub after all. Overall definitely worth a visit.

Like Chinese restaurants and Italian pizza outlets, the Irish pub is a global phenomenon. From Clonakilty to Cala Egos, Dublin to Durban, there are thousands of them worldwide. Their popularity in part is due to their conviviality, blather and "authenticity". However like most global enterprises they can also tend to be soulless, anonymous establishments, and utterly unlike an actual Irish pub back home where they have been an important part of Irish cultural and social life for decades. This one is located above the sprawling Rocamarina hotel complex in the direction of the impressive Marina in Cala Llonga and is a great place for watching Iomanaiocht, camogie agus cluichi peile and partaking of hearty roast beef type dinners in the middle of the day. The portions are generous and the menu is geared towards those who are a little uncomfortable with Spanish cuisine. It is now virtually impossible to visit any part of the planet without stumbling into and then probably out of a Father Ted's or a Randy Leprechaun or whatever you are having yourself a dhuine uasail! Slan Abhaile.
