Wonderful place. Very small - only a few tables but a long bar with a kitchen at the end. But what wonderful meals come out of that kitchen! We had the Mussels Luce which were plump, sweet and flavorful. The wild boar pasta with tagliatelle was wonderful - don't yet the name throw you - it is more like non-spicy sausage meat in a wonderful ragu. And the summer spaghetti was equally good. The midsummer night chocolate dream cake was a surprisingly light yet chocolately end to our meal. All in all a wonderful experience and I hope to go back.

Rated as 5th best with Freemason Abby as number 2????

This is a must visit restaurant, you must have a reservation as seating is limited. Ask for seating at the chefs area so you can watch the chef and crew in action.

Food was superb, I had the hunters sausage and was surprised by the quantity of great tasting sausage. Pasta sauce that Tony fixed was authentic Italian and took me back to my youth growing up in a first generation immigrant Italian neighborhood.

Wife had a pasta with shrimp and her meal was also excellent. Both meals were so plentiful that we took enough home for lunch the next day.

Don't miss this restaurant!

When in Norfolk...think small. Fridays and Saturdays this place is hopping, but during the week especially during the summer it is a little less crowded. Due to the quaint size you can see what is going on and the owner Antonio who is the amazing Chef can see you and often does to check how your experience is. His trusted Side kick Angel has been working with Tony for about 20 years. Angle handles the front of the house. There is no job too big or small for him to make your dining experience enjoyable.

Italian in Norfolk - No better - Tony has great ties to the Naples area of Italy and while his cooking reflects some of this do not believe that he is traditional. He enjoys providing twists and his personal takes on the dishes to make them his own.

The menus sports a grand selection of seafood, veal, chicken, pasta dishes that will make your mouth water just reading them. The salad I saw was incredible looking! The group I was with enjoyed a variety of meals to include the (should be World famous) Wild Boar Ragu pasta that is beyond incredible and the Veal Chop Di Casa. I chatted with a couple that had just finished the Clam in Brodo Appetizer and they were still revealing in the goodness 20 minuets after they ate it. We had the salami cold plate and cheese plate appetizers and that worked well with the larger group we had.

Tony is awesome at answering personal requests for a special meal or customization if you so choose. One of the benefits of having a small place is that it can cater to your individual needs and Tony does not disappoint.

The happy hour is from 5-7 Monday thru Friday. You get to try some great wines for pretty cheap. This night they had a Spanish wine "Niel" as the red selection. Both the red and whites were $6 each. The bar tender, Hunter was great at making suggestions to go with almost anything. They do have a small selection of quality draft beers, and excellent mix of bottled beer. They also have a great mix of special cocktails, but Luce's claim to fame is probably their wine selection which is a great mix from affordable to "very special night" quality.

While the appetizers, entrees and beverages are normally enough for the common person, because the portions are a great size, I recommend that you save some room for the dessert. We had the berry mascarpone and also the profiteroles! Both were awesome but I think the favorite of the group was the profiteroles.

As with most restaurants on Grandby Street, you can fit in wearing a suit or shorts. It is a relaxed atmosphere with deconstructed wooden wine boxes covering some portions of pillars and eye catching art on the walls. They have a great bar and some tables for more quiet time with your special guests.

Open during dinner hours only, be sure to call ahead for reservations - you will be glad you did!

Whether it is after work cocktails, appetizers before hitting the NORVA or a full up dinner, Luce can scratch your itch. Small, quaint and personal, what more can you ask for?

Love the food and drinks. Attentive staff. Gets crowded at times but worth the wait. Good for a late nite drink or dinner.

Whenever in Norfolk, I always stop more than once for dinner. Great bartending staff and exec chef Tony always comes through. Great menu items and I am never turned down when I order something especially for me. Tony knows traditional classic cooking and recipes. 2 thumbs up!!!
