One of the better crab cakes in the area, and if you aren't driving, you have to treat yourself to their signature "Rum Runner", or better yet perhaps two of them!
While I haven't had dessert there in a while due to always being too full, they are always a great way to top off a meal.
Service is always friendly and they appreciate you coming in.

The cool breeze blew thru the restaurant like we were seated on some Island. The smell of the salt air mixed with the fresh prepared seafood. The large ceiling fan moves air thru the restaurant, but may take you napkin away, or blow your menu. The fresh tuna salad is just that, fresh, cool, and delicious.
Boats move up and down Long Creek, and there is a sense of island attitude within the restaurant. It nestles along side the marina, and it is a great place to unwind.

Surf Rider is one of my favorite places to go in the VA Beach area. While it is a (small) chain of restaurants, each one if different with it's own character. Don't get me wrong, the food is consistent and very good at all locations, just the atmosphere changes.

From the fried shrimp to the crab cakes to the raw oyster to the entire menu, you wont be disappointing.

We went to the Hampton Surfrider Restaurant lastnight, the wait wasn't too long, and the service was pretty good also. The problem we had with all 4 dinners, they were cold when they hit the table. The steak and crabcake combo was cold, the hushpuppies even worse. The wife had to send back her broiled scallops dinner because they were cold as well to have them heat it back up. There were four of us eating, but they really have to work on keeping the food warm before letting it come out to the table. Both of us were experiencing bathroom issues all night, and into today. I don't think we will be going back there anymore. When you spend $95 out for two people, you definitely expect warm food to hit the table. The baked potato, salad, and mixed drinks were good, but that was about it. The steak was supposed to be medium well, but came out so well done it was dried out completely.
