We visited as a large group and had mixed views. Some drinks were ok, but bartender didn’t know how to prepare others. Salad portions were huge so a lot of spinach was wasted. Fish, shrimp, and crab cakes were all delicious, but one steak was hardly touched. Might give them a second chance in a couple weeks to see if they are back up to their usual high standard.

We went to the Bistro on the advise of a friend. We stopped for lunch and were immediately seated. Most customers were local businessmen. Our waitress was friendly and knew the entire menu as well as the lunch specials. Older downtown atmosphere with nice wood and big windows. After our harbor cruise we came back for Happy Hour and the bar scene was fantastic. It is just great to see a professional bartender who is friendly, knows his customers and remembers everybody's name. The bartender's name was Big Daddy and a happy fellow he is. The owner, Todd, greeted us for lunch and then, hours later, remembered us. If you are downtown for lunch or dinner or just a cocktail; this is the place. Wish we had more like this in California.

I have been on business for a few days in Norfolk and repeatedly heard how good this restaurant is. It was all true! Very nice service for a party of eight and each course received rave reviews -- especially the she crab soup, raw oysters, meatloaf, and creme brûlée. Nice selection of wines at reasonable prices. We were surprised at how few diners there were, on a Friday evening, in the dining room, although the small bar area was plenty busy.

Nice Place off Main Street, very good steaks, nice wine selection from Europe. The staff is friendly, the service is attentive and not rushed. Great for before or after theatre.

We came to town for a date night away from the kids and were looking forward to a special dinner. I chose this place based on the reviews, but this was a disappointing experience. 30 minutes. That was time that passed from when were seated to the time we had our first drink delivered. The pace of service did pick up after that, but the food was mediocre. We had the fried oysters which were not crispy enough and kind of fell apart. The she crab soup was cold, and I don’t think it’s meant to be a chilled soup. The crab cakes were the worst I’ve ever had, very fishy tasting. The filet was fine but nothing memorable. The decor is also uninspired and frankly boring. I wouldn’t eat here again.
