We visited Croaker's Spot in Norfolk after having tried it in Richmond. We were not disappointed. Warning! Portions are huge, and take home boxes are provided as a routine procedure. It is fairly large and has it's own bar etc. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We took advantage of the half price cocktails from 4 to 7 and they were very good. We ordered a shrimp sampler for the family while waiting to decide on our main courses. It was terrific and consists of 12 shrimp cooked 3 different ways. One third is fried, one third is in buffalo sauce, and one third is sca,pi style. We ordered Fried Oysters, Shrimp, Catfish, and Baked Salmon. All were very well done and the Corn Bread is the best I ever had. I am sure you will enjoy it if you get a chance.. One more warning portions are huge so dessert may not be possible although they look delicious.

The Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops were amazing! It was a pleasant surprise how tasty everything was. The "block" of cornbread......was so good! The Croaker's Spot Kool-Aid was delicious too. I definitely suggest dining here.

We had heard lots of wonderful recommendations about this place, and decided that MLK Jr. day was a perfect day to check it out.
We were the only Caucasian people there the entire night, but We were immediately greeted by polite, friendly, and helpful staff. We were made to feel welcome and every member of the staff that we encountered was friendly, polite, and helpful.
Their menu is extensive, with some pretty impressive happy hour drink specials as well. Happy hour is from four until seven Monday through Friday and includes five dollar drink specials on favorites like Long Island iced tea as well as incredible special drinks such as the "Wah Lah". Both were served in a pint glass, and we're not for the faint of heart.
Since it was our first time here, we decided to order the ultimate feast which comes with a plate for sharing. Even after we had eaten as much as we could possibly eat, we filled two to go boxes with leftovers. Enough for us to each have a second dinner.
Even though we were full, we decided we absolutely had to try their warm bread pudding. It was enough for four people!
The bread pudding is served warm with a lemon sauce and whipped cream, and the plate is dusted with powdered sugar. The pudding is slightly dense and almost like a fruitcake, as it includes cranberries and nuts. YUM!
We are most certainly going to return! Next time, however, we will be sure we haven't eaten for a couple days before hand.

The ambience is really nice in this place - day or nite. Dined in at lunch time - a variety of places to sit (at the bar or several divided rooms) which is ideal if you are alone or with a large party. I was with a party of 10. I ordered the fried fish with cheddar grits and cornbread. The portions are over-sized; at least another serving reserved for later. Food is homemade. The staff is wonderful and the service is exceptional! Waiters and waitresses are attentive.
