It is a very good location; close to the beach, bus stop, restaurants, shops etc. The communal areas and rooms are all spotlessly clean.
The staff are helpful, if a little remote.
Having the use of a sauna, steam room and gym is a plus
However.....I would not advise anyone to stay half board. The breakfast was adequate; something for everyone. The evening meal was a big disappointment. The choices were very, very limited, with cold vegetables and ‘angel delight’ for desserts daily.

This hotel exceeded my expectations,I would say the room we had was basic and I would class it as three stars.I wasn't aware that for a supplement I could've had a kettle and a fridge. Our room had a large balcony ,sun in the morning. Our rooms were cleaned to a very high standard every day, fresh towels and linen. The pool is situated in a sunny area, could do with an upgrade in loungers as a little uncomfortable after a while. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The daily cocktails are fabulous and excellent value for money. This hotel is situated in the best location two minutes walk to the beautiful beaches, restaurants and cafes
We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be back

Rooms are very clean and spacious nothing was a bother for the staff especially Patricia who never stops such a hard worker. A mention for Tiago at the bar who is very attentive and helpful. Breakfast looked nice good selection. Location great 2 minutes from the beach.
Nice pool and sauna and steam room. We would have extended our stay but they were fully booked. The older guy on reception gets a bit stressed but he was friendly enough.

we visited this hotel in april last year (2017) and were so impressed we have rebooked for this year (2018) spotlessly clean, amazingly friendly and helpful staff - nothing is too much trouble. lovely secluded sun trap pool area and great gym facilities, great selection at breakfast. perfectly located, around two minute walk to the beach and promenade where there is a good selection of bars restaurants and shops (amazing to watch the beautiful sunset whilst dining al fresco) short bus or taxi ride or twenty minute stroll to the fish market or marina. I would not look past this hotel when visiting this area. exceptionally reasonable prices so worth upgrading if you can. A must try is an afternoon latte, brandy and natta.

Room Tip: not all sea view have balcony, be sure to ask if you want one

We have just returned from the QuarteiraSol Hotel and were very disappointed with the food. We had booked half board and it was supposed to be a buffet but all we got was a choice of two main courses (which sometimes you couldn’t tell what it was) and brocolli every night and the food was only luke warm. As for the deserts there was only a choice of a mousse like substance, like what we would call Angel Delight or green jelly or a piece of fruit. The same deserts were put out night after night. The lasagne had no tomato sauce and the meat was grey and swimming in oil. All in all the food was an absolute disaster and spoilt our holiday.
