this will be quite detailed as I want you to see this wonderful hotel as clearly as possible! but BASICALLY - wonderful hotel, fantastic staff, ideal location, wonderful food, spotless. Would love to go back!

on arrival very prompt and efficient check in even though there were quite a lot of people. At check in you are given 3 keys - door, safe and pool gate. I travelled with 2 elderly parents (whom I was very worried about as they had been quite ill just before departure) we were given rooms next door which was a relief. Their room had an extra bed (just had to pull out a cupboard style storage) which would enable 3 people to stay - but I think would be a bit cramped. Rooms are compact (as is the style of Italy) but extremely adequate - very comfy double bed, 2 small wardrobes and overbed storage - with plenty extra blankets and pillows. Air conditioning + and ceiling fan. Also a TV and fridge. Our balcony was very small but room enough for a small table and 2 chairs - I think on the first floor they had good sized balconys. The bathroom was compact but well equipped with a lovely shower. Cleanliness was 2nd to none.

Staff were 1st class! So angry with myself as I can't remember their names, but the woman at breakfast was a pleasure! Our waitresses were EXTREMELY attentive and and efficient. The menus are planned the evening before so as you have your dinner you choose off the menu for tomorrow. The food is quite fancy. My dad cannot eat food with sauces etc but that was not a problem. I just wrote on the menu what he would like and Chef did his best to provide this - every day. There is a vast salad buffet to start with and then a 3 course dinner. We were the last guests of the season this year - that was not a problem for the hotel - in fact to me I felt it was quite emotional. The 'Director' or owner had his meals with us in the dining room accompanied by his family which was lovely.

Location is ideal. About 4 steps down from the end of the pool and you're at the beach with a promenade to the left or right for miles.

As it was end of season unfortunately a few restaurants out on the street were closed down. The footpaths outside are a bit uneven so a wee bit of care needed. ONE downside is - the traders that come to the beach - I think they should be stopped!

about a 2 hour coach transfer from the airport - if possible would be a good idea to fly into Venice

The best sevice and friendly employes i've ever had on a vacation.

Breakfast and dinner are very good.

One of the largest swimmingpool of the hotels in Jesolo.

They have a nice policy that te rooms are very early ready on the day you check in.

The surrounding is very beautifull and the hotel is in a quiet enviremont but 200 m of piazza mazzinni.

Great location, great staff, who are very friendly and helpful. However, how this place gets 4 stars is beyond me. Small rooms, tiny bathrooms, 70's decor and furniture everywhere. Very noisy, you could hear EVERYTHING in the hall ways and rooms next door. Mostly German guests, ALL queuing for their dinners at 7.00pm sharp! Breakfast was ok. Check out: 9.30 am!! Much nicer hotels available, will go back to Hotel Orizzonte next time again, which was only a 3 star but MUCH MUCH nicer.

The Cambridge Hotel in de Jesolo is the best Hotel my wife and I have experienced, ever. The bedrooms are quite small in size, and could do with updating, but spotless, and everything in place-TV/Fridge/bathroom facilities, again maintained daily, in excellent condition. The staff were friendly and helpfull, the meals were 2nd to none, every day with starters large enough to satisfy for main course. All food fresh and of very high standard, in preperation. One can swim in hotel pool,or at the beach, which runs along the railing at pool's end. Most safe and comfortable resort, to accommodate this Superb Hotel, Cambridge

Room Tip: We flew into Verona from Cork. Journey to hotel too far-2 hrs.Only fly to Venice airport to access...

The service was second to none.Even though we were late arrivals the receptionist arranged for us to have dinner. All the staff were genuinely friendly and a credit to the hotel which was spotless. The location was perfect .The beach was at the back of the hotel and the main street approx one min walk to the side of hotel .Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for the food alone which was fantastic .Our compliments to the chefs and a big thumbs up to everyone at the Cambridge for making our first trip to Italy so memorable .
