Recommended by a next door neighbour, we turned up without a reservation for dinner. The small garden was packed solid, so the owner suggested a table inside saying he'd move us outside when a table became free. However, we were happy on our own inside with a cooling breeze from the open windows.
I misunderstood the menu & ordered veal innards. The cook came out to check if I really wanted this (which I didn't!). His concern was much appreciated, as I wouldn't have eaten the dish!
We had an excellent meal of stuffed roasted rabbit & stewed partridge, followed by chocolate & pear cake with ice cream.
Definitely a restaurant we'll return to - although next time we'll reserve a table
