“Fabulous wine bar in Alberobello! Don’t miss it!!”

Trulli e Puglia Wine Bar
Ranked #2 of 113 Restaurants in Alberobello
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Wine Tasting in a 500 years old cellar in the basement of a Trullo House in the historical centre of Alberobello. Lunch, dinner or just an aperitif based on boards of local cheeses and chutney, cure meats, burrata e stracciatella. Bread and Focaccia made at home every day. A great and natural culinary experience with a glass of one of the best wines from Puglia or an artisan beer in a frozen glass. We suggest you to drive and park your car in Via Isonzo, near the Saint'Antonio church. Mimmo

Today my husband and I visited Alberobello for our first time, staying just a few kilometres away in a trulli set in an olive grove!! We stopped at the Trulli e Puglia Wine Bar for a bite of lunch. To get to it you have to go down some steps into what once may have been a cellar! It is on one of the main streets so easy to find with signage.
Francesca and Carmella looked after us in a friendly and professional way. Nothing was too much trouble and the food and wine by the glass was fabulous. Italy at its best. I tried Orange Wine and with the cheese and cured meat plate it was perfect. Not sweet either! A beautiful chocolate panacotta and coffee topped off a beautiful lunch and experience!!

Went with my son for some local food and wine. Both of us enjoyed home made paninis, local meats platter and some cheese.
Service was great, young lady serving us so helpful, happy, and warm.
The place is also very cosy and easy to forget about the time while enjoying glass of wine or a snack.

We were a family of seven plus a twenty month old toddler. The wines suggested were excellent and we the food we chose was really enjoyable. Our granddaughter absolutely loved Mimmo who kept her entertained. A visit here is a must.

Beautiful wine, friendly and helpful staff, lovely setting and tasty snacks - what more can I say. Definitely buy the truffle oil if you can, best ever with mozzerella

This beautiful wine bar is in the cellar of a trulli in the town. It’s on a busy, tourist-shop-lined thoroughfare, but once you step inside and descend the steps it feels a million miles away from the bustle. The staff were very friendly and humoured our broken Italian. We enjoyed two local, artisanal beers from a brewery called “Why Not?” Why not indeed?! These were served with a few snacks: taralli rosemarino, olives and spiced fava beans. All tasty. We ordered a burrata with peperoni (chillies) which was very good and was served with fresh bread. The prices were very reasonable. There are also many local treats for sale to take away: limoncello and other liqueurs in trulli-shaped bottles, taralli in many flavours, sauces, herbs etc. All very reasonably priced. As other reviewers have said, the opening times can be tricky. But Italy often is! We visited on a Sunday at about 5pm. They were open and others were inside. As it got nearer to 6pm we were the only ones in there and could see they were tidying up to close. We left around 6 and at the entrance there was a notice stating that they were closing. So I don’t know how accurate the times stated on Tripadvisor are. I think if we had arrived one hour later we would not have been allowed inside. Maybe they were opening again in the evening but I don’t know. It’s probably best not to assume they will be open all day and avoid mid-afternoon/early evening unless you have checked in advance by phone.
