Maremesco is located on the south part of the bay, mid way up the hill. They have a gorgeous view of the bay, the mountains and the town of Levanto.

Unfortunately, this is about all the B&B has going for it. The room I stayed in was small and cramped with oversized, old furniture. The linen and towels were old and threadbare and the room had a weird smell. The breakfast was average (coffee/tea, bread, selection of jams) and there was no communal kitchen/ dining room. I felt like I was staying in a hippie commune where the design and decor of the B&B hadn't changed since the 70's and I paid 65 Euro a night.

The walk up and down the mountain for everything meant that if you forgot something in the room it stayed there - it wasn't an easy climb. Maremesco is at the beginning of the walks to Monterosso (Red/White trail) which was convenient at the start.

The owner's husband had to carry my bag from the road to the B&B as there is NO road or pathway - just a narrow rut (sneakers are a must at this B&B). Antonella also dropped my bag at the station for me which was helpful.

Overall the friendliness of the owners did not outweigh the other elements that did not make this the most pleasant stay I had in Italy.

Room Tip: I would recommend asking interrogating questions when booking a room as clearly I did not - I took the face-value of the pictures and comments from previous guests as the basis for staying here.

I can't recommend this B and B enough. Gorgeous location overlooking the surrounding hills and sea. Its owners, Antonella and Enrico, are so accommodating and warm, making sure you're relaxed and looked after. Enrico picked us up from the station and dropped us off at the end of our stay. We ate breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking Levanto. It's a ten min walk to the sea from the hotel and coming up is a bit longer as it is harder work in the heat! But Enrico has built a lovely plunge pool to cool off in once you get to the top. The room was fabulous, with stunning views. Watching the sunrise every morning from the bedroom was a treat. I can't fault this B and B.It's so quirky with its art work as sculptures scattered about the place and I can't imagine a nicer, more comfortable and welcoming place in Levanto. You can also use the kitchen to make dinners in the evening. Don't hesitate. Book it!

My best friend and i stayed here for 2 nights in May and had the most amazing time. Breakfast was so filling and tasty! We couldnt believe that the food just kept coming and coming :) We stayed in a family room and it was so thoughtfully decorated. We loved it all :) We had a beautiful dinner overlooking the sunset. I cannot recommend this place enough! The owner even carried our bags for us and drove us back to the train station. We chose to walk there and even though our bags were heavy, we are young and carrying them up the hillside was no bother to us. This is probably my best B+B experience of anywhere in the world! THank you!
