10 days in Ischia. Ischia is an island of volcanic origins in Italy's Campania region, at the northern end of the Bay of Naples.
Forio is our favorite because of its beautiful beaches and bays. It also has a thriving town centre and harbour. Fresh seafood, produce and homemade bread to die for. It's also home to Poseidon Thermal Gardens in the bay of Citara.
Our home for our short visit was La Rotonda Sul Mare or The Roundabout on the Sea. The view was breathtaking. Clean rooms, a small but kitchen adequate especially with the addition of a washer which makes things more convenient when bringing fewer clothes.
A huge deck on the Mediterranean which is connected to a bar and lounge area making it easily accessible. The deck is very accommodating with numerous beach chairs and umbrellas.
Lastly, the owners as well as the employees are friendly and hospitable.
When you visit, Amerigo greets you as family not just a customer.
Frank

I have stayed here several times and each visit has been better than the previous. There are many things I like about the La Rotonda. Being it is a family business you will be treated as family, Amerigo who runs the resort will make sure your every need it taken care of. Many times he has went out of his way to do things for us. The rooms are simple but clean and you will have access to their giant deck on the water where you can just relax on the lounge chairs or go swimming kayaks and water crafts are available for your use. There is a restrauant and bar, pricing is very reasonable for food and beverages. Another great feature is the location where you can experience a true Italian atmosphere not just at the resort but on the entire island. You can also do many side trips to Capri, Positano and many other places by boat.

La Rotonda sul Mare
What are teriffic place! I just happened upon it by referral from another accommodation that was full and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to relax and enjoy three nights at this delightful family run establishment. The hosts are accommodating and friendly and the entire family Is delightful. The ocean is lovely, the views are fantastic. I enjoyed a good bed and very relaxing sleep each night. I understand the food is very good there but I only ate at the family owned restaurant in the hills (Ristorante La Casereccia) where your host will happily take you.
There are lovely walks on Ischia, and the buses are good.
This accommodation is great place to be around in an excellent neighbourhood with a supermarket and lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. I hadn’t intended to stay there, and it was so relaxing I truly didn't want to leave! Thank you!

Room Tip: top floor has most specacular view

We were lucky enough to have booked La Rotonda Sul Mare for a few days of sun and sea relaxation before a trip to the equally stunning but totally different down town Naples. We cannot recommend highly enough this idyllic spot , just an hours boat ride from the mainland. For a family ( and anyone else ) this was perfect from start to finish. Hours of fun to be had on and in the water with Pedelos, Kayaks and all manor of water based goodies at your disposal with fantastic opportunities for snorkelling literally on your doorstep. The food and drink is very reasonably priced and there is a choice of restaurants within a short walk . The Apartments are perfectly functional with everything in good order. Ischia is a wonderful and authentic experience , and it is all pulled together by Amerigo who is a fantastic host and really made us welcome and feel part of the family. Do check out the family's restaurant further up into the hills La Casereccia for some amazing Pizza and traditional Iscihan Cuisine . We are already planning a return trip for 2018...

Hotel is located directly at sea. Has its own sun terrace with sunbeds and umbrellas. All the facilities are free of charge (including kayaks, water bicycles, boards, water sun beds, snorkeling etc). Beach with sand is 3 min walk from the terrace.
Rooms - maybe not to big, but who stays in the room during stay in Italy ;-) The kitchennette, bathroom cleaned every day.
Bar with Chief Paolo - what can I say... every morning freshly baked, home made cornetti and graffe (donuts). For lunch time - every day something new - also home made pasta in many ways :-) We discovered some new types of pasta :-) Breakfast & lunch on the terrace directly at sea - unforgetable experience ;-)
And last but not least - Amerigo - the owner. Hospitable, obliging and always smiling.
We strongly recommend also the Casserecia - Amerigo's parents restaurant. Rabbit was absolutely delicious :-)

Very familiar atmosphere.
