Looking for a place to stay for the night while on the amalfi coast, we decided to go up to agerola in this agriturismo. The hosts are super welcoming, the view is amazing, the room was super clean and the food is really delicious (both dinner and breakfast). It was a really nice surprise, worth the drive if you are looking for an authentic experience at a good price.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 days as a base for visiting the Amalfi coast and hiking in Agerola, and I'm glad we did as it was an excellent place! Easy enough to find as you can follow the signs in San Lazzaro (all B&Bs are all signposted) with plenty of parking, and Mike and his family were very welcoming and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. The room was well furnished with a nice bathroom, and the views across the valley to the sea were amazing from the garden for relaxing after a hard day hiking. Great tasting food all locally sourced: plenty of which comes from the garden, which even hosts a peacock, and breakfast - no hyperbole - was the best I've had anywhere I've stayed in all the countries I've visited, particularly the home made cheese and preserves. Brilliant location away from the Amalfi crowds, to which you can get down to either by bus, private hire or car, will be recommending to family members should they want to visit the area!!

We challenged the cook to prepare us a surprise dinner - a surprise it was indeed. Very good food, very friendly and hospitable host!

Stayed here for 2 nights and although it was quite a drive from Maiori through the busy traffic of Amalfi and the coastal road, definately worth it. Although nobody at La Baita seemed to speak English very well, we felt welcome (it also helped I speak some words of Italian).

Some highlights:
- Stunning view from our large balcony.
- Clean room with nice bed, airco, fresh towels and daily cleaning.
- Breakfast included, lunch and dinner possible for reasonable prices with a daily menu. Simple food, but delicious and locally sourced ingredients. Tip: try the mixed family pizza (for 2), you won't regret it!
- Large garden with fruit trees to relax in with cute animals (e.g. black pigs) in the back.
- Short walk downhill to the small but lively town of San Lazzaro, where near the church an info point can be found, for instance for hiking or bus time tables.

Something La Baita can't really improve upon, but what we didn't like so much was the noise in the evening/ night. Although it's a quiet town, dogs bark at each other all through the night, so sleeping with the balcony doors wide open was frustrating (when you thought it got quiet they started all over again). Furthermore the restaurant below is also frequented by the locals, so on the Saturday we stayed it wasn't quiet until 12pm.
