We’ve been a handful of times to Brewer’s Den for a drink after work which has been lovely. But we recently went for dinner and had a terrible experience as only half the order arrived. They assured us it would come time and time again, and even tried to ply us with a shot each, but still the food never arrived. They seemed to blame us for the fact that we hadn’t reserved a table, thus moved us to a different table, which resulted in our order apparently dropping to the bottom of the pile. It was most frustrating when they kept telling us our food was on its way, with half the table having finished theirs already, and then seeing other tables still getting served before us. After waiting over an hour, we ended up cancelling the forgotten food, which they didn’t seem fussed about.
Having worked in hospitality, we understand the difficulty of their evening as it was particularly busy and they were two staff down. However, all of this could have easily been resolved, but the staff didn’t really seem too bothered as to whether we would return again and didn’t seem that remorseful either. All in all, not worth the wait.
