If you're in Granada, you won't want to miss Volcan Mombacho. Whether you want to swim, kayak, standup paddle board, or just enjoy a drink and soak up the beautiful scenery, this is well worth a visit.

I believe the only way to enjoy a beach is by going through a private club (in other words, you have to pay). But this means you also get to use their equipment and can buy drinks and food right at the beach. I don't remember the name of the one we went to, but it was not crowded at all and very nice.

Mombacho is impressive to behold. It is not considered extinct, but not active, either. It rises in a majestic fashion in the distance. I observed from afar, but wouldn't mind a close-up visit.

This is truly heaven on earth. Our first time ever visiting a cloud forest. What an experience, one should visit this place if you are in Nicaragua. You can hike from Granada or take a guided tour by a Van. It is a long hike so I would not suggest this option if you are not a regular hiker in good shape.

Our visit to the Mombacho volcano was a unique unforgettable experience for our whole family. We got to know the old volcano, enjoyed getting to know some birds, monkeys and very exotic trees and plants. We could look at the flora inside the volcano, we walked and enjoyed the view of Granada isletas in lake Cocibolca. Beautiful. Walk around amazed at all the beauty surrounding us.We chatted away in our group, took many pictures and we were glad we could rely on easy logistics to reach this wonderful place. It was a blessing of nature within our reach. Thank you

We were really disappointed that we didn't get a chance to see the volcano because of the protest occurring in nicaragua. The tour company should have cancelled it then waste our money and time. Instead, we took horse carriage around granada market, but there's not much to see/shop. They tried to make it up by taking us to the beach and Christ of mercy but I rather the tour be cancelled because the focus of tour was the volcano.
So just double check with tour company or go see another volcano.
