We chose not to take a tour but do thus ourselves. So easy just drive from Granda along the lake where there are lots of boats for hire. We had a boat to ourselves and it was majestic. There's a tiny island with monkeys, lots of wildlife and the scenery is epic. We stopped at one of the many restaurants and drank a very cold bottle of beer, sitting overlooking the lake in the afternoon is a memory I'll cherish. The people were amazing welcoming and very friendly. An extremely pleasant boat trip that you need to do!

Nice tour of the islets with a guide to point out prominent owners and history. Had lunch on one of the islands before returning ashore.

Having been to Las Isletas a few years ago, we wanted to go back as we had enjoyed it so much the first time. We booked through our hotel and our guide was great. It is well worth a visit (2 /3 hours) as it a relaxing way to see a different side of Granada.
Ask your guide to stop at a restaurant for lunch.... we ate at las Piratas! Highly recommended.

Could’ve done a group tour with guide for $100, or a private boat without guide for $50, but opted for private boat with guide for $140. Totally not worth it. Guide was very nice, but was only able to point at a few houses and say how rich the people were that owned them. Would have been better off just hiring a boat to one of the restaurants. The one we went to had a nice pool right over the lake, which was great to swim in with the kids while waiting for lunch. Also, “monkey island” is a bit of a letdown. It’s a tiny island with 3 monkeys who were put there by a local vet, and are so jaded by tour boats coming by every day that they often won’t come take any food. Very touristy experience.

The Islets were a nice way to spend a few hours while staying in Granada. We walked to the launch area and negotiated with a couple boat captains directly to fit our timing and interests (knowing some Spanish definitely helped!). It was a fun way to see some nature and view some wildlife (mostly birds). I wouldn't say it's a "must-do" or that it was amazing, but I would recommend if you have a few days in Granada.
