Just got back from "Ring Figure" weekend where 2nd Class Cadets get their class rings, and event on par with their graduation 18 months later. If you don't have a cadet here, you should nevertheless attend other events and ceremonies. Tradition runs deep---all the way back to 1839---and there is no shortage of ceremony. This is the best of American tradition offered by the West Point of the South.

Stopped to visit the Museum. Marvelous staff, very nice presentation, impressive articles. Spoke to a few Cadets and found them to be respectful, courteous, helpful, and proud to be associated with VMI. Campus is very unique and historic. Would recommend planning enough time to take a tour. Sad we had to depart and missed the parade.

We were visiting the Lexington Visitors center and the attendant told us about the Pass in Review starting in an hour. We made the 15 minute walk and were glad we did. The parade was wonderful. It gave us renewed hope in our young people.

Visited VMI as part of a leadership forum. Had the opportunity for a private tour and visited the leadership center, Marshall museum and vault, the grounds, the chapel. Absolutely worth a visit and be sure to hit the George Marshall museum and the Virginia Museum of civil war.

Very moving and interesting. There was an excellent docent there that explained everything. There is a museum in the lower level with bathroom. Wanted to go before radicals make them change name or tear down! I highly recommend a visit. The Virginia Military Institute is very impressive.
