We were visiting the Lexington Visitors center and the attendant told us about the Pass in Review starting in an hour. We made the 15 minute walk and were glad we did. The parade was wonderful. It gave us renewed hope in our young people.

Visited VMI as part of a leadership forum. Had the opportunity for a private tour and visited the leadership center, Marshall museum and vault, the grounds, the chapel. Absolutely worth a visit and be sure to hit the George Marshall museum and the Virginia Museum of civil war.

Very moving and interesting. There was an excellent docent there that explained everything. There is a museum in the lower level with bathroom. Wanted to go before radicals make them change name or tear down! I highly recommend a visit. The Virginia Military Institute is very impressive.

The campus is amazing and the VMI is known as the West Point of the South. The cadets are very pleasant, helpful and very polite. My husband and I were in Lexington on vacation as we enjoy U.S. history and stopped at VMI. We ran into a few cadets and they invited us back for their roll call they have each evening, which was quite impressive. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. It reminds you of castle in architect. There is a tour of VMI of the outside, you do not go into their barracks, that is led by a cadet. We had a tour by a delightful lady cadet that was a senior.

The museum and chapel that you tour on your own are very impressive. Confederate General Thomas Jonathan Jackson lived in town and was a teacher here before the civil war and before he became know as Stonewall. There is history relating to him in the museum as well as his horse Little Sorrell. There is a statue of Gen. Jackson in front of where his classroom was when he taught there. The original VMI was shelled and burned during the civil war in 1864 by Union Gen. David Hunter. This is worth a stop when in Lexington which is a very interesting and historical town.
