Our first time eating here. Went for Sunday brunch. The waitress never greeted us just came up and asked what we wanted to drink. Seemed like she was annoyed that we were there. Then just dropped off the check without saying anything. The food was ok at best. Not worth the price. The $17 shrimp and grits consisted of a spoonfull of grits and six frozen small shrimp. For a hundred dollar breakfast for three we expected more.

Thank you for your review 1234216. We sincerely apologize for not providing you the service that we expect our staff to provide our guests. We have also revisited our standards for preparing our top-selling shrimp and grits and will benefit from your wonderful feedback.

Thank you again,

Greg Griffin

We were seated immediately even though we did not have a reservation. The wait staff was very friendly & the food was excellent. We had the seared flounder. It is a little pricey, but worth it. Interesting decor.

We stayed at the Kilmarnock Inn for the first time and found it to be a very nice (not luxurious) inn. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Our room was in one of the outbuildings but was near the parking lot so it was not as quiet as I had hoped. The amenities were basic and the bed was comfortable. One problem was the glass in the door which kept the room lighted all night. The one complaint I have is the 10:00 checkout. Our breakfast was delicious but took a while to be served leaving us in a rush to leave. We requested a later check out but were only given 15 extra minutes.

NCSmokey,

Thank you for your detailed review. I apologize for the minimal extension for checkout. Some weekends we have many guests checking in and out in the same day and need ample time to clean and refresh all of the rooms. We will certainly revisit our strategies with room occupancy to help accommodate everyone and apologize for any inconvenience in caused you. We so appreciate your business and that you enjoyed dining with us as well.

Thank you again,

Greg

Stayed at the Inn for 2 nights and enjoyed both dinner and breakfast on both days. The food was wonderful. The menus provide a great variety of options. I had the crab omelet on the first day. Lot's of crabmeat in a very light and fluffy egg. The service at all of the meals was friendly and professional. The Inn offers a full bar and a very nice wine list. We felt that the price of the meals was very reasonable for the quality. Just wished we lived closer so we could enjoy this gem more often.

Full service restaurant is part of this inn. We thought about eating dinner here upon arrival, but they were not open when we returned from exploring. The breakfast was great.
