We started with the Mediterranean Plater appetizer - excellent & well presented on a curved piece of Buckingham slate.

Then we went for the Bourbon Bread Pudding and oh my God - it was the best bread pudding either of us has ever had. We ordered an extra one to take home and have over coffee the next morning.

Next we had the pork shank with sides of Mac & cheese and shiitake mushrooms. Well...that was amazing too. Rarely does a restaurant nail it all ...... even the staff (Lisa among others) were great .... we’ll be telling our friends and coming back soon.

While staying at The Tides Inn, we made reservations for Saturday evening. The beer choices of three out of four of our group were unavailable. They only have about 7 entrees to choose from and three of us wanted the same one but they only had enough for one of us. We were the first reservation of the evening. The food we had tasted good, but disappointed in the selections and felt that the price was too high. Will not return.

Dinner was good - but was exceeded by the service. Started off with a house salad - very yummy, and then split the Seafood Ravioli with my date. Came out in just a warm sauce with not quite cooked ravioli. Had it been warmer and fully cooked - could have been wonderful. The server was terrific and quickly recommended the crab cakes - which were super. Served with perfectly sauteed veggies - it turned things around. Finished off with ice cream and the dark chocolate truffle cake - this is the way it should be served. Overall - an enjoyable evening.

We came for dinner on a Saturday night having made a reservation several weeks prior. We were greeted by a very unenthusiastic hostess who led us to the table, laid the menus down and walked away. Our waitress came by and introduced herself and then gave us time to decide. She took our orders but never delivered any of our food, nor checked to see if it was good. Another server delivered our food, both courses, but never checked either. We had to put our dishes on the edge of the table to get someone to take them. Our wine and water glasses were empty and never refilled. We had to ask for bread. The food was fine albeit a little pricey. The she crab soup was delicious. The crab stuffed flounder was too crunchy on the bottom and a bit dry as if it had been sitting on a baking sheet too long.

There aren't a lot of dining choices in Irvington if you want to leave the resort, so this place could really fill a void, but unless they train their staff on basic serving skills I doubt this will happen.

A full proof wonderful dinner every time! Always have dinner there when we visit the Hope and Glory! Last visit besides dinner on another night we had a late lunch so did not have dinner. Decided to wander on over to grab a bite to eat at the bar and the kitchen had closed. However in true Trick Dog hospitality they served us delicious crab soup and Caesar salad despite the closed kitchen! Locals and vacationers frequent this cool place!
