My husband and I escaped here from the DC area for a night this past weekend. Customer service, rooms, views, food and everything else was excellent. There are thoughtful touches throughout the manor. We loved sitting by the fireplace and looking out over the mountain, the overhead speakers in the rooms that came with an Ipad to play music, the honor bar and the heated floors in the bathrooms were all unexpected bonuses. We will definitely be back!

Room tip: The Wallis Room is near the back of the house and offered a lot of privacy. It also had amazing views!

My husband and I spent a one-night Valentine's getaway with Glen Gordon manor at the recommendation of a friend. I cannot fully put into words how kind and welcoming everyone was throughout our entire experience. We had paid for a tailored package that included a wine tasting at Rappahanock Cellars, a five-course dinner, 3-course breakfast, and lovely room; but what we didn't expect was our gorgeous room upgrade. We were offered a complimentary room upgrade to the Edward suite that featured an extended clawfoot tub bathroom and exterior hot tub--we did not decline the offer :)

THE FOOD = A+. The prefix dinner menu was perfectly portioned in every way-- farm fresh yet unique in sapidity. I appreciate when chefs go beyond good taste and create foods that multiply the experience through texture and flavors.

The house and grounds were well-cared for and were charming--welcoming and soothing. We enjoyed a walk of the grounds, laughing at the hilarious chickens and taking in the quiet atmosphere. The room was perfect, too--the bed was extremely comfortable and this coming from someone who can only sleep on a casper-like mattress with 4 inches of additional gel memory foam. Comfort is key.

We enjoyed the proximity to the wineries, distilleries, and unique shops in the area. Highly recommend Wine Loves Chocolate. They feature some truly unique and intricately-designed chocolates you cannot find anywhere else. The lavender chocolate, sour cherry, and the coffee lemon were top choices.

With a drive of just little over an hour from home, we expect to be back several times again. It was such a perfect escape from the hustle of everyday life and do pass along the recommendation to any couple needing some time away.

Room tip: The Edward featured views of the pool, farm life, and gardens. Rainfall shower, clawfoot tub, and patio with hot tub and seating.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Manor after doing a Google search looking for a luxury bed and breakfast within a 90 minute drive of our home. One of the criteria was an onsite world class restaurant. All I can say is wow. We arrived to be greeted with a champagne tour of the facilities and the history of the Manor and area. We stayed in the King Edward Suite. A very comfortable large room with some nice features, like the rainfall shower, a separate room with lots of glass and a claw foot tub as well as your own outside privacy screened hot tub that was operational even in a cold February weekend that we were there. The fireplace in our room was only for decoration but there is an amazing sitting area that had a nice fire burning most of the time. Another great feature is the help yourself honor bar that you could access anything you wanted. The property certainly was great but the thing that puts it over the top is Chef Dayn and his team that provided an amazing 5 course dinner that was spectacular. The food and the presentation was amazing. We went with the wine pairing and we enjoyed it so much we eat dinner in the restaurant both nights of our stay. The three course breakfast in our experience was a step above some of the breakfasts we had had at similar luxury type bed and breakfasts. We also enjoyed the custom roosted piping hot coffee that they delivered to our room each morning before we went to breakfast. The Gen Gordon is a place we certainly have on our top 10 list of places we like to stay.

Room tip: Choose the King Edward Suite...it is a larger room with a claw foot tub to soak in as well as an outside hot tub

We had a wonderful experience. The arrival is so charming with a glass of Prosecco and a property tour that includes the interesting historical aspects of Glen Gordon. We felt well taken care of with the level of service that is just right, always there but never intrusive.
We had four rooms and each one was unique, very clean and beautifully appointed. Some of our favorites for the weekend included gathering by the wood burning fireplace for coffee/cocktails, beautiful and delicious breakfasts, and of course - the chickens :).
Our group of friends gets together once a year for a "Girls Weekend" and each year we decide on a new location in the MD-DC-VA region. We already decided to come back to Glen Gordon next year :)

Upon arriving at Glenn Gordon Manor we were met by an unassuming man that immediately offered us a glass or champagne, and tour of the establishment. We were staying in the Windsor room which is pictured. Noticing a couple of dirt bikes the comment was met with “please feel free to take them around”. An offer I would have certainly taken them up on if only alittle younger! We later learned that this “tour guide” was our classically trained Chef, and owner of this amazing gem of a getaway. Everyone was incredibly friendly and would love nothing more than to just talk to you and get to know you, in which we wholeheartedly enjoyed. We were taken back by the talented staff as they woo you with their knowledge and professionalism, while maintaining a quaint and personable persona. We only stayed for one night, and quickly regreted our decision to just “try them out”. We will certainly be back and we highly recommend this experience. From the incredible view and atmosphere, to the world class fine dining, this place was nothing short of perfection.
