Our friends invited us to come down for a week at the Lake with them a year in advance. Little did we know what a nice gem they had been going too. The Cabin was clean. the Lake was huge and gorgeous. The park was amazingly kept up and very pretty. The staff was friendly and helpful when we had a few questions. This is an A+ park at the end of the world in Virginia.

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cabins on the lake - the view, and the park as a whole, was beautiful. We didn't get to check out the trails due to weather, but they looked pretty extensive! There was an issue with late check-in and we had to get the chief ranger to let us in to our cabin because they had messed up our reservation, but it got worked out so it wasn't a big deal. Also, they advertise kayaking and paddle boarding rentals, but it's through a private company so it's a little more expensive than rentals at other state parks. Other than the trails or taking your own equipment out on the lake, there wasn't a whole lot to do, but they are in the process of building a splash park and yurts for rental, which should be awesome! Worth a visit, but not my favorite state park.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained park. Our campsite had electric, water, and a fire ring. If you qre looking for a lovely new spot, you must go!

Just returned from a 10 day camping trip and the park is just beautiful. I have to agree that many of the good sites are "backwards". I hate having my awning and the picnic table, sitting area, and firepit on the back side of the camper, however, we were fortunate enough to get a nice large site facing the right direction. Someone did some nice thinking on the layout of the sites otherwise. You don't look right into your neighbor's site in most of the areas. A decent amount of room and vegetation between the sites. Unfortunately for us, it rained, hailed, and stormed almost every day we were there so there was not much to do. Nothing much else close around to spend the day doing. I think we saw every shop in Clarksville in about an hour. Would love to go back when the weather is better.

We have a camper and had an awesome view of the lake. Our site was a bit awkward because our steps were on the parking side (looking at the RV they would be on the left) but our pad with the firepit was on the right of the trailer so we had to go around the trailer to relax. The sites were a nice size. Some of the best site locations had no hook-ups. The distance between campers was far enough that you have privacy. Oh and there are lots of trees which is great on hot days like we experienced. Hope this review helps you.
