We love this restaurant. The service is fantastic, and the food is authentic, delicious every time. The prices are not bad. The gelato is fresh made in house and amazing. This is the closest place I have had to authentic Italian food when I visited Rome.

The food was very delicious but when did pasta get so pricey?! I didn't find this to be a high-end restaurant... Pasta cames with soup or salad, which I didn't want but it was included, had wedding soup which was very good. I wanted to try the desert but was way full to even finish my pasta. I doubt we will come back here

A quaint Italian restaurant in the heart of Chesapeake, Reginella's bring the same heart of Italian Cuisine the same way its original Virginia Beach location does. The service is impeccable. The servings are always what you expect in authentic Italian restaurants.

The caprese salad is always a good way to start. Add the portables mushrooms with peppers, and you will not be disappointed.

The Seafood Pasta in red sauce is an amazing entree for those Seafood lovers.

They always come with fresh baked bread.

Love this place.

Until last night, was unaware Reginella's had opened a location in Chesapeake. Small inside but nice atmosphere. Had made a reservation since we were a group of 8 plus a high chair. First thing was a mix-up in who our server was. One took our drink order and then came back to the table apologizing saying he thought we were his table but another server would take over. Wasn't a big deal. Second server also apologized for the confusion but, again, that part of it wasn't a big deal. Server (Chris I believe his name was) was nice enough but he said he would remove dishes to make room for the numerous appetizers we ordered but he never took away all the used dishes so table was quite crowded and we kept having to juggle appetizer dishes. One person in our group ordered the pasta carbonara but got spaghetti and meatballs. Another apology but a quick turnaround with the right dish being prepared and brought to the table. Two people were going to share this entre but no second plate brought. It's the little things that should be routine. Another odd thing is a woman that was seated in the back with three children at the table. She kept walking around the restaurant, going back in the kitchen area and by the time she left, there was quite a stockpile of boxes and takeout containers on her table. Her behavior just seemed odd and it was a little distracting. I ordered the fettucine alfredo. Because of all the appetizers, I ate very little of this but got a takeout box. Alfredo sauce was the creamiest I have had compared with several other establishments. Guest seated next to me ordered her choice of dressing for the salad and the server wrote something down and then said "what kind of dressing did you want for your salad?" Bread came toward the end of the meal rather than with the meal. Food was good; service needs to be fine tuned

I've been patronizing the Virginia Beach location for years; yesterday I thought I'd give the Chesapeake a try for lunch.

What I liked:

1. Immaculate dining room, proper lighting, music not too loud, greeted promptly and properly at the reception area
2. Large wine list; affordable prices
3. Hot, crusty pizza with sauce that has the right tang; not overcooked, no noticeable sugar
4. Service: Tabitha was friendly, helpful, and knew when to check on me
5. Reasonable prices

What I didn't like:

Would I return? Yes
