Visiting on University business. Close proximity, but not in the craziness of downtown. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable at a great price. Breakfast could be a little better. Pastries were a bit stale, eating area is small for the size of the hotel.

Stayed: March 2016, travelled on business

Dear Mary K,
Thank you for choosing the Comfort Inn Blacksburg and taking the time to share your experience. I've shared your specific feedback with our breakfast staff and improvements have been made. You may have noticed we're currently undergoing a complete renovation when you stayed - I'm happy to say that the last phase of the project includes not only renovating our breakfast area but expanding it as well.
We hope you enjoyed your time in Blacksburg visiting Virginia Tech and hope that your travels might bring you back our way again soon. Please feel free to contact me personally if you're interested in discussing a special VT corporate rate to use whenever you're here on business. Thanks again!

First, the staff was wonderful. Really nice and very helpful. However, the hotel is dated and dirty. We saw a sign that said they were renovating and honestly, it can't happen fast enough. Our bathtub had mold growing in it and we had dirty feet from walking on the carpet in our room. We were supposed to stay two nights and switched hotels after the first night.

Hotel with the average ammenities all hotels have. Price/comfort ratio within average. As far as I remember, its location is not very close to VT's campus. I was there before April/15. For a hotel in a city as small as B'burg it offers what a traveller needs.

Not the best not the worst.
Stayed in a first floor room. Room was Clean but the bathroom shower, in the middle of the tub was like being on a camels hump. And the water coming out of the shower had very little pressure.
Breakfast was ok.
Staff wasn't the friendliest but answered your questions as you asked them with no problem. Not the greet you as they see you that you usually have in hotels.

This Comfort Inn is a clean hotel located a couple of miles south of the Blacksburg downtown area. It's not walking distance to anything special at Virginia Tech or to the downtown area but it is comfortable lodging. We had a double room at $90 on a weeknight and the same for $100 on a Friday night. The amenities in the room were very good - plenty of towels, comfy pillows. The only drawback for the room was its rather small size. The place was not noisy even though it seemed to be pretty full.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent, as that sort of thing goes. There were scrambled eggs, meat patties, yoghurt, pancakes, tasty donuts, oatmeal and bagels, in addition to some other foods.
