Six friends up for a weekend in Stowe. Excellent front desk service, excellent rate for off season, perfect accommodations (except the Trail House Suite could use another toilet when sleeping six adults). Excellent breakfast. All EXCELLENT! We were all pleasantly surprised. Thank you!

I booked this location based on Trip Advisors "Certificate of Excellence". Upon arrival, the front landscaping was full of weeds and overgrown. The lobby has a very fresh, hip look. However, as I made my way to my room (in the main building) the carpets in the hallways are stained and look horrible. So, my first impression of this place was enough to make me want to look elsewhere. However, the room was very nice and accommodating. I think Trip Advisor should reassess the "Certificate of Excellence" designation. It is very misleading!

While we're happy to hear that you found your room to be so accommodating and our lobby to have such a fresh and hip look, we're so sorry to hear that your overall experience while staying with us did not live up to your expectations. We can assure you that landscaping upkeep is on our short list of maintenance tasks and although we can assure you that the carpets are cleaned regularly, we will certainly take a look at them. We'd love if you would give us another try!

We loved our two night stay, the lounge, bar and breakfast area were really stylish and funky and our room had an amazing bath. The location is good, just a five minute walk down to Main Street and there was plenty of parking. Not much atmosphere at night but I think it would be busier and the bar might be buzzing in summer and certainly winter when the ski season kicks in.

Upon our arrival, the owners were very kind and upgraded us to the 4th floor king suite for the first night and the 2-bedroom cottage for the second night. My husband was in charge of the accommodations, so I was expecting a rustic ski lodge based on the exterior of the hotel. The suite, however, was surprisingly luxurious and modern. It was chilly out and we took advantage of the fireplace and the lovely soaking tub. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both got a great night's sleep. We loved that the room had its own mini fridge and complimentary bottled waters. We preferred the suite over the two bedroom cottage we stayed in the second night, although the cottage would be perfect for a family. The location of the cottage made it less private and we ended up closing the curtains most of the time. The cottage's bathroom was not nearly as nice as the suite, and was a bit cramped (the shower could use a good scrubbing, too). As some of the other reviewers pointed out, the complimentary breakfast was simple -- but what was served was very satisfying and tasty. How can you go wrong with local coffee and piping hot croissants fresh from the oven?? I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming through Stowe.

Room tip: Choose the suite on the 4th floor!

We had a king room which was extremely spartan. It appears that this hotel caters to skiers rather than your regular traveler seeking some comfort. The sheets were not ironed, but simply replaced after washing. The bathroom was poorly cleaned with hair from the previous person in the shower and on the floor. The hotel advertises breakfast which turned out to be as spartan as the room. Definitely could not recommend especially at the high prices that are charged!

Room tip: Look eslewhere!

We're so sorry to hear that your stay with us was not what you were hoping for. We do feel that our hotel is accurately represented through the photos and descriptions on our website and our hope is to create a warm and welcoming environment for any type of traveler, whether they are looking to cozy up at the hotel or adventure out for the day. While many guests have enjoyed our small plates breakfast and trying a variety of items, we completely understand that some guests may be looking for a more substantial breakfast and our staff is more than happy to provide some great local suggestions.
