Loved our 3 night stay here. I would echo all the comments in review by Tom K. Wonderful, kindly reception staff. Great housekeeping, our unit was spotlessly clean. We loved the location of this motel-it felt very open with spacious grounds and units were set well back from the road. Our unit had 2 queen beds and sitting area, corner fireplace and separate kitchen area-very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom small but perfectly formed! More than adequate breakfast. Breakfast area is small but you can grab a tray and take breakfast back to your unit. We shared a table with another couple so good fun to meet new people. It's 2 miles from the motel to main Stowe town-a nice 40 minute walk. Lots of places to eat locally-our favourite was Gracie's. I would love to return here, it must be beautiful in the winter.

Room Tip: We stayed in end unit facing reception and swimming pool-very bright and quiet

Great start to our two night stay with a warm and friendly check in. We stayed in the snowdrift 1. Room was basic but clean. Nice touch with two chairs on the walk way outside, to sit and have a beer and take in the air. Lots of facilities at the motel. It was about a ten walk to two or three restaurants for dinner, with an Irish pub across the road. Breakfast was basic but plenty of choice and well maintained by the lady. Room was a bit small but luckily not many guests when we were there. Great base to wander around Stowe and beyond with the Von Trapp lodge just up the road.

This motel consists of a variety of single and multiple units spread across a spacious area set back from the highway on each side of the complex. Ours was a lower end unit with a King bed, a kitchenette, a fireplace, and a sitting area. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast consisted primarily of some cereal, pastry, donuts, and some packaged goodies, along with some fruit and breakfast drinks and coffee. While nothing spectacular, it was fairly satisfying. We were able to walk the grounds and sit outside and enjoy the afternoon and evening. This worked out well with our small dog that accompanied us on our 28 day road trip.

Management at this location was outstanding. They held a special (expensive) pillow that we had left behind that was picked up by family relatives who also visited this motel after our departure. All in all, while this is far from being a fancy place, we would not hesitate to stay at this facility again in the future. My wife has asthma and did not have any issues. However, we did note the musty smell in the level below the area where the breakfast room is situated.

Room Tip: There are many types of rooms from which to choose. If you like a condo type facility or a single family unit, these types of facilities may be available.

We are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for your great review of our property – it sounds like you had a chance to enjoy our grounds and breakfast. I'm glad that we were able to ship back your pillow quickly too. The informal game room under the breakfast room is in a basement occasionally can get a little stuffy, I will mention it to our housekeeping staff, thank you for bringing it to our attention. Thank you again for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor.

This is a good place, but could be great by doing a simple thing.
There is a games room with an unused bar plenty of space for tables and chairs for lots of people.
What have the owners done? served breakfast in the tiniest area possible where people are falling over themselves to get serial, pastries, coffee and bagels, I just don't understand the logic.

That apart, the room was great with plenty of space and comfy bed, wifi was free and available in room, DVD player in room with free lending of DVD's.
The place is in a lovely position for touring and hiking (we even drove to NY state over the bridge) with some lovely mountain passes.

We appreciate your feedback on our property and value your input. Although we would also prefer to have the continental breakfast in the game room area, it isn't a legal option for us because of handicap accessibility. During busy time periods, since it is a small area, we try to suggest to guests to bring their trays either back to their room or to the nearby game room area. I apologize for our staff not mentioning that to your during your stay. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the room, our DVD library and some of our other amenities. Thank you again for valuable feedback.

This is a nice looking motel made up of various small motel buildings. The whole property is non smoking. I would give a higher rating but the rooms smelled stale and the linens were washed in scented detergent which some might enjoy, but are a medical issue for my family. I would expect a non-smoking property to use only 'green products' as some stay there to avoid breathing / asthma issues. Oddly, the vinyl chairs had been wiped with some perfumed cleaning product and soaked it up. They would make your clothes stink if you sat on them. Another tip - Be aware that in October, Stowe restaurants change their hours at their whim, despite what it says on the door or the sign out front.
