Park in front of the arena and head over to the trails at Pine Hill Park at the end of the parking lot. Once you're in the trail system there are no restrooms or water, so plan accordingly. We enjoyed three hours of hiking and went to the pond. You could spend an entire day here. There are enormous rocks, tiny orange lizards, and some nice views in the paths of the power lines. It's a nice place with intermediate trails.

Nice park to visit with well-maintained trails; very enjoyable for a hike; would recommend for an outdoor activity

The City of Rutland's Rec. Department has done a phenomenal job making the trails, building the boardwalks and bridges, and all the other features of this bike park. To the point that it's now being written about in national and even international outdoors and biking magazines. It's a hidden little gem, free for use, right here in our backyard. If you're active and outdoorsy, take advantage of this. Rutland doesn't have much to offer, so use what we have, for sure.

Pine Hill Park is an amazing gem--beautiful hiking trails suitable for people of all ages, including children--within the city limits of Rutland City. Trails are well maintained by a hearty volunteer crew. Bridges are attractively engineered and built in a manner that blends into the forest scene. There are trails for everyone--short and flatter trails for families with young kids or an older adult; trails with some more steep climbs and distance. You can hike for 5 minutes or 5 hours (Carriage Trail to Proctor). It is especially nice for folks that work in Rutland that can steal quick hike at lunchtime. This is also a mountain biking trail, but I don't use if for that so can't review for that function. I will say that the mountain bikers are always very respectful of hikers, and there are not that many of them. There are some trails too that are designated hiking only.

Love this park, have been on many hikes with our dogs. The trails are well taken care of and easy to navigate.
