This was our first time visiting Sheady Acres and we had such a great/relaxing time. It was nice to bring our dog who ended up making friends with Howard! Eamon and Shawna's dog. Even though it rained the entire weekend we were there, we took advantage of hiking in the back yard with our dog and taking trips into town. We have already discussed the next time we would come and this time we are bring another couple with us so they can experience the beautiful cottages and peaceful surroundings. It is a MUST to visit! it may be a long drive but completely worth it and if you have pets, bring them! they will love it just as much!

These rental cottages are well appointed and well maintained. The Irish Farmhouse was great, we'll probably try the Adobe or the other pet friendly unit next time. Each unit is so unique, it's hard to choose a favorite. We rented for a late season ski weekend, but will definitely book a summer trip to enjoy the disk golf on the property. Our lab and the owner's pet hit it off right away and had fun exploring the wooded area of the disk golf course. Have 4WD in the winter Jay is a snowy area. Bring your passport, too. It's a short drive into Sutton, QC. Excellent restaurants, the Sutton Brouërie had incredible food and hand crafted beer.

Room Tip: Irish Farmhouse is a two story unit, bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor.

Eamon and Shawna have built amazing rental cottages halfway between Montgomery Center and the Jay Peak resort. It's a really quick drive up to skiing, and the Big Jay Tavern (also awesome) is right around the corner. We've come back 3 times, and we always stay in a different cottage. They are super cozy and the hot tub is awesome. If a good internet connection matters to you, you may want to find another spot - it can be spotty. But for us, that's a plus. We come up to get away from it all, and a forced internet break can be pretty great!

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at Sheady Acres. The first time, we came alone. This time we came with another couple. Both times, we stayed at the Adobe cottage because we had our dog with us and some of the units are pet-free. The Adobe cottage is very nice inside and we loved the heated bathroom floors. It's a quick run through the snow to the community hot-tub out back. It's sheltered on 2 sides from the prevailing wind (which was very important as it was zero degrees out and windy. But once in the hot-tub, everything was perfect. Be sure to read the directions on how to lower the hard-cover. There's a beautiful view out into the woods. The whole place has a very relaxed feel to it, and that starts with the owners who are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. I highly recommend staying here. The Adobe is best for just a couple though as the downstairs area is limited, especially after pulling out the pull-out sofa sleeper. It also gets too hot in upstairs loft area if you set a comfortable temperature for the downstairs. A ceiling fan would help out with that problem. But it's doable for two couples. There's a small kitchenette set-up, mini fridge, coffee-maker, but we ended up exploring some of the fine places to eat including the Taco Truck parked near of the general store in Jay (Excellent!!) and the Jay Tavern which is less than 1/2 a mile up the road from Sheady Acres. This place has good beer and surprisingly great food! All in all, if you are going to ski Jay, this is a great place to stay. The lifts are only about 5 to minutes away.

We had a great time during our weekend in Vermont. Our stay in the Caribe cabin at Sheady Acres was even better than expected-- cozy, clean and relaxing. Was also very close to Jay Peak, which was great for getting home quickly after a long day on the slopes. Would definitely recommend.
