“Busy local pub and restaurant”
Reviewed 13 January 2012

This is a great place for casual dining on the restaurant side, or a friendly but loud meal or just a beer on the pub side.

They have a terrific selection of beers, which they keep and serve well. My favorite meal in the pub (the menu is the same both sides but the atmosphere is very different) is their great hamburger, with fresh local beef.

For me the pub is unfortunately a bit too loud and there are multiple large flatscreen TVs covering one wall. If you're a sports fan, perfect! --if you're not, it feels like trying to eat on a merry-go-round, with images flashing and zooming non-stop.

Still, it's a very friendly and popular place. If you really want to have a conversation with someone, choose the restaurant side. Last, the owners are, in fact, two brothers who are great community members--thanks guys!

“Good Brew and Burgers”
Reviewed 8 January 2012

They have a varied menu, and a nice atmosphere. They are divided between the bar area (which has seating for a meal) and the restaurant. Located in the middle of Middlebury, it makes for an easy choice if you are shopping in town.

“Fun Atmosphere!”
Reviewed 4 January 2012

Came by here twice during my stay in Middlebury. Earlier in the day it was a little quieter, but the local people in the bar at the time were very nice and we had a fun time. Later in the night we returned, and the crowd was a little younger and very fun.

“Cozy atmosphere and good local food”
Reviewed 1 January 2012

Two Brothers Tavern is a pub located in downtown Middlebury Vt. Judging by the listing of 12 or so local farms on the wall, the Tavern utilizes locally produced products when possible.

The inside of the restaurant is decorated in a rustic woody style which was very welcoming on a cold and damp winter evening. The offerings range from traditional pub fare to salads to burritos to shepherd's pie to macaroni and cheese. Food is filling, fresh, and served by a friendly staff.

The beer selection is varied, with an emphasis on locally brewed beers.

Perhaps most importantly, though, is the fact that we had eaten at Two Brothers twice in 2009. Having encountered a minor issue at that time, I contacted management and expressed my concern. In return, my family and I received an explanation and invitation to return to Two Brothers Tavern. We returned to Vermont and Two Brothers two years later and are happy to have done so.
