We were lucky enough to find this lovely little BnB for a spur-of-the-moment trip, and were thrilled with what we found. We received an upgrade without asking (a real treat!), and our room (Elliott's Room) was spacious, quiet, and lovely in every respect. We chose to dine at the inn and were delighted with the options, the quality of the food (all farm-to-table), and the very fine service. I chose the pork schnitzel, which was accompanied by a creamy basil-inflected orzo and steamed asparagus, my spouse a delicious pork tenderloin cooked perfectly (medium rare), with polenta and chanterelle mushrooms. His fresh tomato gazpacho and my corn chowder were excellent starters. The drinks were very good as well, with an extensive list of liquors that included a number of small local and regional distilleries. Breakfast was excellent as well, with fresh pastries, the choice of an omelette or white chocolate pancakes, and rich strong coffee. The staff was quite accommodating, The inn is close to Rutland (maybe 6 miles) yet a world away--quiet and peaceful. We loved the place!
