Our favorite VT breakfast place. Very consistent, great service, and a true Vermont experience. Delicious breakfast.

Found it accidentally. Read the menu. Leave a 100% tip because you have to do that once in your life and this is the place. It didn't seem perfectly handicap accessible, so if that's an issue call ahead or maybe do take out. But other than that it's perfect. Per....fect. Half way through I got nervous I had driven off the road and killed the family and we all ended up here in Heaven. But alas no.

We live pretty close by but generally only eat here a couple of times per year since we like to keep the weight down. Stopped by yesterday for brunch and, as always, struggled to finish. My wife had an omelet with a side of home fries while I had my "go to" plate of blueberry pancakes, this time without a side of bacon. Both were excellent as always and, while I was able to finish mine and "help" with my wife's home fries, she still went home with leftover omelet and potatoes. Service, as always, was attentive without being overbearing.

A few things to keep in mind if you visit. First, there's almost always a line to get in on weekends. We were there around 1:00 PM on Saturday with messy weather so, at that point, there was no waiting. Second, call ahead if you have a big group. Finally, real maple syrup is included with the meal. You pay extra for the fake stuff.

If you want a great breakfast, please stop to Sugar and Spice. We travel an hour and a half for the pancakes and steak and eggs. As a treat, this time of the year you get to see an actual working maple sugar business within the same building. They also offer a gift shop with Vermont apparel. A MUST!!!!

If you are anywhere near the area - check it out. It happened to be the State Maple Syrup Day and there was definitely a big crowd - but the wait is worth it. Pancakes and waffles are outstanding. They even offer different levels of maple syrup - and you can watch them making it downstairs. Surprisingly reasonable. They have a huge staff that keeps the place humming. Friendly, competent service. Fuel up for the day.
