Description: The historic Marsh Tavern was the first building erected on the site of what is today the expansive Equinox resort. One of the first lodging houses in Vermont, its history predates the Revolutionary War. Today it is home to a celebrated restaurant and meeting place. Renowned for its hearty New England fare, patrons can enjoy a delicious lunch and the finest regional dinner cuisine. And for good fun, spend a while in the Tavern Lounge for cocktails, a tasty menu and outdoor seating for wine and spirits. Open daily.

The food at Marsh Tavern was very disappointing. The room is charming and comfortable. The service was so-so. The food was borderline bad. We each had meatloaf and it was dry and mealy. Sides were just okay. Expected more from a place the caliber of the Equinox.

We ate here on the three nights we were staying at the Inn. We booked each night in advance, which I feel in busy times is advisable. Each night we had very different choices ranging from the Tavern menu of Caesar salad and crab cakes, to sharing their platter of charcuterie and cheeses (tasty), and finally taking the dinner menu when I had superb scallops. The staff were very friendly and efficient, without being overly intrusive.

Perhaps the delicately sweetened goat cheese was fresh from nearby HIldene? The beet salad was definitely a standout feature in an otherwise just pleasant venue.

Stopped here twice in a 3-day stay in the area. Reason-only wanted drinks and it had room. Had a very generous cheese plate, too. Prices are funny. $8 for crown royal and ginger, and $8 for a Switchback ale? Looked like a line and wait for dinner, but if it's drinks you want, very nice place.

Pretzel rolls with cheese sauce were amazing. Vichyssoise was too thick and and bland. Wine by the glass prices are outrageous. Waitress did not know what a Port Wine was? Service staff wearing jeans when I’m paying $20 for a glass of wine?
