My daughter recently got married at the Ponds in Bolton Valley Vermont, a venue offered by the Essex. We couldn't have been more pleased. First the Essex made the event as trouble-free and smooth as one could hope for on day when the need for attention to detail, last minute accommodations and a stress free environment is at its highest. (Thank you Shana Farer-Feld for seamlessly managing the myriad activities of the day) (Also thank you for arranging for the rain to stop a half hour before the wedding and the clouds to part and ....thanks for arranging the rainbow as well)
Additionally, the Essex itself is a very nice resort that has very comfortable accommodations combined with a very nice fitness center, pool and spa. Across the street from the hotel is an excellent 18 hole executive golf course called Lang Farms that did a terrific job hosting a groom and guys golf outing the morning of the wedding day.
When you combine all of that with a very good restaurant, a tavern and bakery you have a resort that is high on my list of places to stay when I am in Vermont.
Perhaps my only complaint was a limited selection of light beers and wine choices. We managed to muddle through in any event.More
