“A new approach makes for a great stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2012

A road trip took us to Burlington Vermont and we decided we would book when we got there, checking out the available hotels on the usual online sites the Residence Inn kept coming up with good reviews and decent rates. I called them directly and got an extra $30 off the posted room rate so booked it and headed to check in.
The hotel is just of I89 about 10 mins drive north of Burlington. Check in was easy, staff very frienly. The hotel has a nice bright lobby area, a courtyard with a fire pit and a superb swimming pool.
The room booked was a studio with a king size bed and a pull out, it was laid out like an apartment with plenty of space, a kitchen complete with cooker, fridge etc.. Superbly comfortable bed and pull out bed and overall a great enviroment to stay in. Wireless is free and not confined to one device. I really did think that this was a great room and overall a superb place to stay.
if you are heading to Burlington check this place out, its really worth it!

We have stayed here 3 times now while visiting family in the area. Just a nice, home away from home feel. Pleasant staff, fine breakfast, brand new rooms. Our only negative is in the dead of winter the pool is chilly but was told that it was the warmest they could get it. The whirlpool was a little murky so stayed away. Although previous posters have mentioned a small fitness room, we have used it each stay with never a wait and brand new equipment. Will keep going back for sure!

I stayed at this property over Christmas in a 2 bedroom unit which was fantastic. The property is fairly new and it maintains the usual Marriott standards. The staff is very friendly and they keep the property very clean. It is not in downtown Burlington but I preferred that for this stay. There are supermarkets very close by which are great to have since the unit I was in had a full kitchen which included a regular oven as well as a microwave. Overall I was very pleased with this property and I plan to return to it.

Room Tip: If you want total quiet choose a room in the back of the hotel. It faces a cliff but it is quiet. If...

Burlington does not get a new hotel property often, mainly the choices consist of "recycled" old chestnuts... redone over the years but not sparkling new. Also if you go to any property in the city limits there are higher hotel taxes and usually a parking fee. I hesitate to tell readers about this property as it will be harder to get in on my next visit.....but can't be selfish as I have scored so many tips from Tipadvisor in my travels.

Nothing is far away in Burlington so don't be put off by Colchester. It is 10-15 minutes from everything and right off Interstate #89. All amenties were a "5" in my suite with two bedrooms 2 baths and full kitchen. I did not eat any meals at the hotel so have not opinion. The manager was outstanding and friendly, offering good tips for restaurants.

While in Burlington don't miss eating breakfast at either Mirabelle's on Main St., or Penny Cluse a few blocks north. Go early or wait in line. In fact with the huge student population in town it is hard to get in almost anywhere unless you go early or late. This is the land of craft beers so try the selection at Flatbread Pizza on St Paul St. (here a terrible wait during peak hours). For outdoor gear and accessories try the Outdoor Gear Exchange on Church Street, a unique store that has an outlet feel. Finally if you like natural foods in a buffet setting, try Healthly Living on Dorset St., a natural foods store with an outstanding cafe. Take home some bread as Vt is not only the home to craft beer but great breads, too. Enjoy!!

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra cost, the two bedroom suite is a winner!
