Yet another pizza joint in Rutland. Opened in the fall of 2012 and we had yet to try it. It's in a rough part of town in a small, dumpy joint. But sometimes the best places are like that. What drew us in to give it a try was a flyer and a coupon for a "free slice" left at my wife's place of work sometime before Christmas. My wife said a very nice man came in with a handful of flyers and coupons, trying to promote the place and get the word out. My wife took 3 of the coupons (as not everyone at her work wanted them) and brought them home. The other night after a late night of sports events with our son, we needed something quick to grab, and we were right around the corner, so with coupons in hand, in we went. It was empty except for the guy working there. I don't know if it was the owner or what, but it was an older guy. He was sitting at one of the tables reading a newspaper. The first thing out of his mouth was "is it cold enough for you? I just came inside from smoking a cigarette and I can't believe how cold it was". He then proceeded to walk behind the counter and ask us what we wanted - without washing his hands after smoking, or touching the paper. We presented him with the coupons, which he said were no good and gave some B.S. excuse about the guy who was handing them out a month earlier being fired and the coupon wasn't sanctioned. Hard to believe the coupon wasn't sanctioned since it was professionally printed with the name of the restaurant, address, and FREE SLICE with no expiry date. He contradicted himself three times during his explanation as well. In any case, since we were standing there with a very hungry 6 year old, we decided to get a couple slices anyways. Ordered 2 slices of cheese and a 16-oz sode for $4.00 (as per the menu on the counter). He gives us 2 slices of pepperoni and charges us $5.50 instead and when we say we didn't ask for pepperoni, he says "oh well". The 16-oz soda cup was 15-oz of ice and MAYBE 1-oz of soda.
Summary - crappy customer service, crappy attitude, crappy value --> WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN.
