I was so happy to stumble upon the Sunset House. It met all my needs. Hostess was friendly and accommodating. She also keeps things CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN... I seriously don't know how it was so clean, huge house, with homey decorations and sooooo clean, not even a cobweb- believe me I looked! Shared bathrooms, but I never waited and again SPOTLESS. Bed was firm, but comfortable and easy on the back. Rooms appeared to all have AC is you visit in the summer months. Location was top notch, between the water and Church St on Main. Right in the middle of everything. Parked the car in the back and didn't touch it until it was time to go. Come and go as you please, but of course being respectful of others. Only really saw others on my way in and out and during continental breakfast. Breakfast was the only thing I was surprised about, it was just self-serve, not hot cooked breakfast. However, for the overall price of stay with amenities and with all the great restaurants around it is probably better to get up and walk over to Penny Cluse for breakfast.

Sunset House was historically a boarding house. Nancy, the innkeeper, is friendly and sincere and makes every effort to see that her guests are comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean, and shared spaces were assiduously maintained. Breakfast is simple, serve yourself continental. The inn is located very close to Church Street, which is the heart of Burlington's active restaurant and lounge scene, and within walking distance of the beautifully redeveloped waterfront. I was visiting for a couple of days to reconnect with old friends, and Sunset House provided a very practical and convenient home base for my activities. Recommended without hesitation!

It is the first time that we came here, and we have to say that we are really satisfied! The location is beautiful, and the house is very clean! In addition, the owner is friendly, and enjoyable to talk to!

Nancy kindly opened up early in the season for two last-minute, unprepared visitors to Burlington. The place was fantastic and the location couldn't be better. Most of all, it was the hospitality that sold me. Thanks so much!

Room Tip: All of the rooms seemed nice, but the green and red are wonderful.

Nancy and Paul provide a super clean, quiet place to stay in the heart of Burlington! Treated like family, we;ve returned numerous times and always had an enjoyable visit. A classic old house restored to modern requirements, we love the feel of the place and the easy access to the "help yourself" style breakfasts. Always a Pleasure!
