Dining here is an experience! The covered wagons the indoor night sky made us feel like we were having our meal in the middle of the desert. Great quality foods and steak cooked perfectly.

This was my second visit to the Prairie Schooner, and both times I found the food to be good. For me, the appetizers were the best (especially the fried mushrooms). One thing is clear to me - this place is beloved by many because of the special atmosphere. You walk in, and you feel like you're walking out onto an open prairie, literally eating in a schooner-styled booth. The rooms are decorated with animals and figurines to help you feel like you're a pioneer, which makes the experience really fun and worth the slightly overpriced food.

Should have read other reviews. Ordered medium rare. Difficult to get a knife through the through the fat. Managed to sliver off 3 oz of meat but it was very tough to chew with the fat. Chicken was good, potato excellent, mushroom appetizer is a good value.

Went with another couple while on vacation. I ordered the 14oz. ribeye which was
at most 6oz surrounded by ring of fat which was almost impossible to saw through.
Baked potato was so overcooked less than 1/3 was edible. Dinner salad a joke with
small plate of iceberg, a few peas, 1 slice beet & 1 small grape tomato. Service was mediocre. No wonder only 2 other patrons at a busy dinner hour. Passed Timbermine
on the way & it was packed. Should have gone there. $26.99 was a rip-off.. Will never go back.

Covered wagon cute but too tight fitting . Told waitress I was unhappy with my meal. She said she would see what she could do. Only came back to give us the bill.
