Actually was there in last week of March 2O20 in the mist of the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Things started going crazy after we had left home Extended our stay from 3 to 6 days. Cabins comfy and grounds very clean Wonderful place to stay while exploring around Escalante. Every day a different hike and generally saw no one in the trail. (Early season and pandemic)Clamping in its finest with Gourmet Pizza available for takeout Also love the baked oatmeal but only had it once since they had to shut down breakfast takeout. This is our second trip to Escalante and 2nd time staying at Escalante outfitters. Will stay again.

The cafe / pizza parlour is attached to the outfitters shop which sells all manner of hiking gear and clothes. We had a large pizza each - not knowing just how big they were! Ate one and a half and gave up after the bottons popped on my shirt! Super pizzas with any topping you want. Highly recommended and I will return when next in the area.

Clean. Quiet. Good food. Most of time a German speaking person available (for those who are interested in that). There is one (1) cottage available for families of up to 4 people which has bathroom inside

Oh man, what a great place! We just stayed there last Saturday night after an eight-day, 85-mile, canyoneering and pack-rafting loop through EGSNM and Capitol Reef NP. Tent camped on a nice green lawn under a cottonwood tree. Took hot showers in a spotlessly clean shower house situated near small, neat, rentable cabins. The best part though was the killer cafe which was in the same building as a legit mountain-gear shop which offered high-quality merchandise at fair prices. We had ten people in our group and the pizzas we ordered were amazing, the local beer was ice cold and perfect, and the espresso next morning as we began the long drive home to Ojai CA was just what the doctor ordered. Can't say enough about the young woman at the desk, (should have gotten her name!) who helped set up our reservation and welcomed us when we arrived... she had a 100% can-do attitude. The place was full of kids, families, travelers, day hikers, backpackers, and technical canyoneers and the sentiment was universal - Escalante Outfitters Rocks!

Walked in there, so my friend could grab something before heading to the canyon. I asked the guy behind the counter about fortymile road and it's condition. The guy got attitude and told me "did he look like the blm, maybe that's a question for them" that he was always getting questions like this and he wasn't going to have the liability. Whatever jerk....
So went to grab an item and he snapped and said that's cash only...

Dude, what is your problem. I'm a friggin' local Utah and you treat me like this...can you imagine how he would treat tourists. Escalante isn't booming with business man, you need to get some customer service trainings or get out of the business.

I want to support local business but not them, never again.
