We stayed at the cabins over New Years Eve.... Our group rented 5 of the cabins, and overall we really enjoyed the stay.
Some of the cabins are closer together than others..... in general they are not very spread out....

The "sales office" is not onsite, so don't expect any face to face interaction with managers if there's a problem. They leave the key in the room on the bed with the cabin unlocked for new arrivals.

All of the cabins are non-smoking, but ours REEKED of cigarettes.... so I complained to the manager after the trip ended, and they offered us a $200 credit to come back anytime in 2008 and give them a chance to make it right.

The hottubs on the deck were a nice addition, but ours had a fairly strong smell of mildew.... a bit overwhelming when you first lift the lid...... None of our group was willing to 'risk it' and use the hottubs, which was disappointing, as that was one of the main reasons we picked the cabins.

The firepit area was a nice place to hang out at night ..
The creek is a 5 minute walk across the street... and is very serene and crystal clear.

The cabins have small TVs... no DVD players... fireplaces .... futons... and queen sized beds (quality of bedding could use improvement... I brought my own sheets and towels, expecting this to be the case)....

The town shopping district is a few miles from the cabins and has some great restaurants and shops...

We visited a local TX State Park called the Blue Hole - and that is worth checking out... especially in the summertime when the creek area is open to swim in ...

We look forward to visiting again sometime in 2008 and giving them another shot to make it right.

Cypress Creek Cottages could be really nice if they would update the Cabins, the Decor was dated to the 70's, .... Also, my hobby is decorating so I saw great potential for this property. The Cabin had a very musty smell, needed to be aired out badly, but as always I carry Lysol when I travel so a shot or two of Lysol helped. As mentioned above the grounds could use some work too, poison sumac is everywhere, and the decks and exterior need to be power washed with bleach because there was green slime growing, as a matter of fact I nearly broke my neck going down the stairs due to the green slime growth. This place has great potential, but for what maintenance that is needed to be performed the price was a bit on the pricey side. I was once in Property Management, so I can see where many improvements were needed on this property, but one cannot always blame the manager for the property not being up to par, a manager is only allotted so much money to run a place, perhaps the owner is frugal. As for the manager, he seemed to be very nice and laid back type of guy. The place as mentioned in my subject heading is very serene, and the surroundings, creek & greenery is very nice on the eyes. One more thing, Cypress Creek Cottages are located just minutes from Wimberley Square, so location is great...

The creek is beautiful. Our kids played in it for hours at a time. The water wasn't too deep or fast-moving for the younger kids, but it was still fun for the older kids. The cabins are well-maintained, and the support staff are friendly and helpful. The kitchens have appropriate supplies and utensils. The beds and other furniture are comfortable and stylish. The interior decoration is attractive. The decks are perfect for barbecuing. Everything is in good condition. We really enjoyed our time at the cabins.

We just came back from a stay at Cypress Creek Cottages and we had so much fun!! It is perfect for a low cost romantic weekend getaway. The cottages are not fancy , but has everything you would ever need, including stuff to cook or grill with,(if you wanted to , just bring your own food) . They were very clean and homey feeling with a fireplace and private jacuzzi on the patio. I liked that the cottages were situated to where you were not staring into the next cottage, It was secluded enough with trees to be private It has all the amenties of a hotel with out the disturbences of a hotel , (PEOPLE WALKING DOWN HALL, TALKING, HEARING NEIGBORS THROUGH THIN WALLS ETC... ). I would 100% RECOMMEND to all my family and friends and already have!!! . it was very quiet and peaceful and the location is very close to all the little shops! The creek was also very pretty and super clear!!

We recently stayed at Cypress Creek Cottages in Wimberley, TX, and I would not recommend it to anyone...ever. This property consists of a handful of crappy, very cheaply thrown together 1-room cabins that are built very closely together, so there's really no privacy, aside from the terribly overgrown wilderness surrounding them (no yards or landscaping whatsoever, wooden planks used as a "sidewalk" leading up to the cabin). They used the absolute cheapest building materials possible, all the way down to the plywood walls stained light blue for a "rustic" flair. There was supposed to be a phone in the cabin...there wasn't (though there was a phone jack). A complimentary breakfast was supposed to be waiting for us upon our arrival...it wasn't. Although it had a small efficiency type kitchen, silverware, bowls, etc were in very short supply...my husband & basically took turns eating cereal in the mornings because there was only 1 bowl. Despite all this, the only saving grace was the private hot tub, right? Wrong. We took the top off to discover slimy, greenish water that STUNK. Never again.

We've Cleaned House

Candidly, situations like this are the reason why the owner of Cypress Creek Cottages hired a new manager, and a new maintenance crew in early 2007. Our customers are enjoying the difference. We've had record-breaking attendance in February and March, and the phones keep on ringing.

What have we changed?
New bed linens, a whole new motivated and dedicated cleaning crew, new proactive maintenance crew, new welcome notebooks in each cottage with maps & information on Wimberley attractions, new furniture on the deck, and clean inviting jacuzzis. We encourage any customer who had a negative experience in 4th quarter of 2006 to call and give us a chance to make it right.
