I stayed here when the hotel first opened and then again a few months ago, and give the owners kudos for their continuing work. La Posada Milagro can seem quirky to those who are used to hotel stays at places like the Four Seasons, but it has so much charm that it makes up for any amenities that are lacking. For me, it's all a part of the Big Bend experience and it's just a great place to stay. I love the bathrooms. Yes, they are shared but all that really means is that you have to walk outside to get to one, and that isn't even a big deal after getting used to it. The tile work and unusual touches make them all worthwhile. Great linens, nice beds and enough charm to last from here to next month. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the area!

Room Tip: I've seen all the rooms and each is unique and nice. The bunk rooms are just that - for sharing...

We love the gals who work there so much, and absolutely respect the fact their cafe serves some of the most wholesome food in the ghost town every day, and they do it in the middle of nowhere. I hear alot of customers complain because this place can't compete with a big city cafe, but really Posada is an oasis in a very inhopsitable place most times of the year and to enjoy their luxuries--- it is worth waiting a few extra minutes in line for, far more than any big city joint I've seen can offer.

We stayed in the Chisos Suite at La Posada Milagro. It had a private bathroom, though the bathroom was located outside of the room. The location in the middle of the Terlingua Ghost Town was super neat, and the views were fantastic. There was a cold front when we came in, and the room had a fireplace, however it was not a working fireplace - that was the only downfall. Such a cool little place though!

We gave them well over two months notice that we wouldn't be able to make the trip. They did not refund the deposit and said they could not rent the room. I'm skeptical about that as it was supposedly the last room available when we reserved it. I apparently have a credit to rebook but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth

Our room was the Santa Elena, and it was rustic, cozy and just right. The nice thing about the website is they give you a breakdown of each room at the place. Location is near the top of the hill, with a great view overlooking the park and easy walking to the Starlight. The view really makes sitting by the fire pit and the patio something special. The food and the coffee at the shop down the hill are both very good and recommended. Drawback is the communal bathrooms, but they are kept very clean and warm. When you check in they leave you a note and the keys are in the door. It is a special place. Stay a while.

Room Tip: Santa Elena is next to the bathroom.
