We booked there the first week in October for 3 days, and checked in to the room on the 3rd floor and there was a big bucket under the air-conditioner that we would trip over in the middle of the night, so they moved us to another room on the first floor because we had a pet which was very nice of them; however that room had roaches crawling on the bed and a dead one on the floor and another type of bug on the floor!! Needless to say we checked out however they would NOT refund us ANYTHING and charged us for all three nights even though we did not even stay there one night !!! and by the way we booked through hotels.com and they would NOT help us with a refund!!

This hotel is older. But it was clean. Great service with the front desk people polite and helpful. Clean rooms and maids were good. The location is awesome. Right on the water. There boardwalk is great. Picnic benches and grills. They have a very long great fishing pier. Great price. Pool was clean and refreshing hot tub was clean and hot so relaxing. Will return.

This hotel lies about everything online because when you get there to check in THE ROOMS ARE DISGUSTING!! the front staff were not friendly wpour room was disgusting hair dryers ripped off wall had to hold entire wall unit to dry hair. Walls were disgusting and dirty, ceiling fan was so full of dirt when you turned it on the dirt flew all over, shower was dirty and doors rusty, toilet paper holder was broken, no trash cans, no phone in room, roach by microwave YUCK....WE COMPLAINED HE OFFERED US ANOTHER ROOM. WELL WE GOT A TRASH CAN AND TOILET PAPER HOLDER but the rooms were dirty, stains on sheets appeared to be blood stained, my sons bed fell apart when he sat on it after complaining he accused us of jumping on bed but how could a 13 year old do that on bottom bunk? RIDICULOUS!!! No paddle boats or kayaks as offered online, no marble bathrooms as offered online! Shower doors fell off while shutting them, took them an hour to respond and the only thing they offered was to move rooms a third time. Nasty vulgar words written all over the bunk beds our children slept in!!! Elevators were disgusting, standing water and floor was ripping up. After complaining multiple times they refused to do anything for us so we checked out after day two and went to another hotel. Very unprofessional and unfriendly. As we were walking out on pier hotel guest said the end has falling in the water two times so I removed my children immediately! HOTEL NOT AT ALL LIKE ONLINE DISPLAYS, VERY UNCLEAN, FALLING APART, DIRTY WITH BUGS..... TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE AS WE DID BECAUSE THEY WILLNOT HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING!!!

Room Tip: Go somewhere else this hotel is disgusting

we have stayed here 6 times in 2015-16, different rooms every time. its not the most up to date, but for a family of 7 you will not find better anywhere. for a place on the water its one of the best affordable hotels period. ive never seen a bug problem, and ken and his staff will go out of their way to make you happy......Sam

Room Tip: choose water front over water view!!!!!!!! water view means side glimpse

Hunt's Castle was HORRIBLE. This was the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced. The place is run down and in need of updating/remodeling. It would be best if the place was torn down due to the condition it is in. The first room we were in, had a ROACH in the bed under the pillow. They switched us to a different room. The beds and couches were worn out and the bedding was old and dingy. The floors were not clean upon our arrival. If you didn't wear your shoes the whole time you were inside, your feet looked like Wal-Mart feet (black on the bottoms). The shower wasn't clean and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while- it was grungy and had black hair all over it. The staff on duty didn't enforce the rules at the swimming pool, therefore, it had sand in the bottom of it. The guests who were swimming in the pool, were running and jumping in and had glass containers in the pool and they jammed LOUD music all night. The elevator was awful as well and seemed to need repair, so we took the stairs the whole time we stayed there.
Point is, DON'T STAY HERE!!!
