Nice clean park. 1/3 mile long pier with good fishing and lit at nighttime for trout fishing. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The yearly pass is only $70 and everyone in your car is allowed in and allowed to fish. Good fish cleaning stations and clean restrooms.

We camped on the water, which is right next to a boat launch site. The airboats start at about 5 a.m. making sleep impossible. It was duck season, but am told they are being used for fishing tours, too, now and are getting more popular. The noise is deafening and ruined our visit. Otherwise it is a nice, clean campground. Not much to do. No beachfront, but could've been wonderfully relaxing but for the horrendous noise. Shame. We will not return.

Ok to start- YES! There isn't a whole lot "to do" in this park... but isn't that the point? We camped here over the News Years Holiday and what a treat it was! Super friendly staff and awesome campsites for RV's along the treed side! We enjoyed the birding areas throughout the park, hiked along the small but nice trails (incredible live oaks EVERYWHERE) stopped and visited the BIG TREE of Lamar- and fished off the pier. Overall it was a super nice trip. Here's the rundown: Campsites- GREAT Quiet and private. Restrooms on site: not so great, need some remodeling- but not horrible- and hey they provided soap! Fishing- see what they are biting on- and follow the trend Location and Views: interesting to say the least! Its Texas- there will be a few bugs (no bites from mosquitoes while we were there) it can be foggy at times. I highly recommend a visit whether it be for the day or an overnight stay at the campground! Goose Island is a little slice of Texas charm that shouldn't be missed! We will definitely be back to this unique TX State Park!
